WE EMBRACE YOU. WE CELEBRATE YOU!  We are actively hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our Valkyrie Clinical Trials Denver, Colorado site. LOCATION : Onsite, Denver, Colorado FLSA : Non-Exempt HOURS : Monday to Friday, Day Shift, 40 hours per week COMPENSATION : $25-$34 per hour (based on experience) PURPOSE: To assist the company in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record keeping functions in the delivery of pharmaceutical supplies to study participants in accordance with department policies/procedures.

To provide support to CRCs and to management as needed to facilitate the smooth operation of business at a Flourish Research site. Supports the site to obtain clean, objective, and accurate data within sponsor timelines while following applicable Flourish SOPs, policies and procedures, federal regulations, medical ethics, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), International Council of Harmonization (ICH), Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements, and in compliance with specific sponsor protocol requirements. All responsibilities should be completed in accordance with Flourish Research’s Core Values and Employee Manual.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : A.    Perform pharmacy compounding of IP and Standard of Care regimens. B.    Read, understand, and follow instruction manuals and sponsor protocols regarding protocol specified patient visits and procedures. C.    Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medication.

D.    Assist doctors and site staff by answering questions and requests. E.     Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medication and supplies, placing orders, verifying receipt, and registering in the appropriate systems. F.     Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

G.    Protects fellow site staff and study participants by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. H.    Organize medications for dispensing by reading medication orders and prescriptions, prepare labels as needed, calculating quantities, assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies. I.      Maintains logs/records and prepares reports when needed.

J.      Monitor and maintain drug temperatures along with system maintenance. K.    Report IP excursions, as applicable. L.     Ensure medication availability by accounting for appropriate amounts for the conduct of the study; as well as delivering to departments and study participants.

M.   Maintain confidentiality of patients, protocols, and other issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements with Flourish Research, between Flourish Research and sponsors, and between Flourish Research and other entities, as well as abiding by current HIPAA regulations. N.    Maintain ongoing communication with Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigators, and other persons assisting with studies and document these communications according to protocol requirements and Flourish Research policies. O.    Attend required meetings and training sessions to stay abreast of current and changing federal regulations, study protocols and Flourish policies.

P.     Perform all study related duties in a time-and-cost effective manner in adherence with Flourish policies. Q.    Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. R.    Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with Flourish staff, sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), IRBs, participants, nursing and medical staff members of various clinics, hospitals, and physician’s offices; Flourish Research contract personnel, as well as any other person(s) when carrying out task and responsibilities.

S.     Additional duties as assigned or required by management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: A.    Work is normally performed in a typical interior clinical/office work environment. B.    Exposure to human bodily fluids. C.    Exposure to medications and investigational product (IP).

D.    Laboratory processing procedures. E.     Participant care. F.     Daily computer use.

G.    Ability to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds. H.    Ability to drive and travel as needed to various site locations.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s degree or adequate experience within the field of research or sterile compounding to compensate, active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for required location(s). Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience within a pharmacy setting, including experience within the field of clinical or biological research.   Knowledge and Skills: A.    Basic understanding and knowledge of ICH and GCP requirements B.    Working knowledge of clinical pharmacy operations, protocols, and best practices.

C.    Ability to read, understand and assimilate protocol specified requirements and/or to ask appropriate questions as needed to gain knowledge and understanding when it comes to mixing and administering medications and IP. D.    Routine working knowledge of research design, patient care practices, GCPs, FDA regulations and a thorough knowledge of medical terminology. E.     Excellent written and verbal communications.

F.     Ability to communicate professionally, collaboratively, and effectively with staff, providers, patients, and external parties. G.    Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, clinical trial management systems). H.    Demonstrates critical decision-making skills and sound judgement.

I.      Exercises ethical decision-making and during interaction with patients, sponsor and IRB representatives, physicians, staff, and other employees. J.      Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to prioritize, escalate appropriately, and drive closure on technical and process issues. K.    Excellent attention to detail.

L.     Ability to identify opportunities to help achieve department/company goals. M.   Ability to train and provide mentorship to others. N.    Demonstrates core values and all skill sets required.
