Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Laboratory Setting, Office Job Description Field Application Scientist (FAS) – Purification / BioProduction 现场应用科学家 – 生物工艺纯化 Position Summary | 职位概述 The Field Application Scientist (FAS) –Responsible for providing technical and application support for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s purification portfolio, primarily including POROS™ , protein A and CaptureSelect™ chromatography resins. The FAS will work closely with strategic customers to provide onsite experimental support, purification process development, optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting, with the goal of accelerating successful design-in and adoption of Thermo Fisher purification products into customer processes. Key Responsibilities | 主要职责 Provide onsite, hands-on technical support for strategic customers during resin evaluation and process development.
Design and execute chromatography experiments together with customers, including resin screening, method development, process optimization, and scale-up. Support purification process development for different modalities, including mAbs, antibody fragments, VHHs, recombinant proteins, viral vectors, oligonucleotides, and other emerging modalities. Troubleshoot technical issues related to DBC, recovery, purity, elution, pressure-flow performance, column packing, and CIP.
Drive successful design-in of POROS™, Protein A, CaptureSelect™, and other purification products into customer processes and purification platforms. Work closely with TSS and Sales to support key opportunities. Collect customer feedback, competitive information, and unmet application needs to support product and application development.
Qualifications | 任职要求 5+ years of hands-on experience in downstream process development, protein purification, or chromatography applications preferred. Master’s degree or above in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Experience in resin screening, including affinity, IEX, mixed-mode, and/or HIC.
Strong chromatography method development, process optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting. Willingness to travel frequently and provide onsite customer support across China. Experience in biopharmaceutical companies, CDMOs, CROs, or bioprocess technology companies is preferred.
Strong problem-solving, experimental design, data analysis, and customer communication skills. Good written and spoken English.
