We are seeking a passionate and scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support our Rare Diseases portfolio across Bulgaria.
As a field-based scientific expert, you will build trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and other external stakeholders while providing scientific and clinical expertise that helps advance patient care and strengthens AstraZeneca's leadership within rare diseases. What You'll Do As a Medical Science Liaison, you will: Act as the scientific expert and primary medical liaison for healthcare professionals within the designated therapeutic area. Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), researchers, and influential stakeholders.
Facilitate scientific exchange regarding clinical data, research findings, and AstraZeneca products in accordance with local regulations and compliance standards. Provide medical and scientific insights to internal cross-functional teams, including Medical, Commercial, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Patient Safety, and Market Access colleagues. Identify emerging scientific trends, treatment gaps, and opportunities within the local healthcare landscape.
Support the planning and execution of local and regional studies, investigator-initiated research, and publication activities. Collaborate with internal and external experts on scientific publications as a moderator and/or co-author. Deliver scientific training and educational programs for healthcare professionals and AstraZeneca colleagues.
Contribute to continuing medical education initiatives and scientific congress activities. Assist with clinical trial activities, including scientific support, feasibility assessments, site identification, and operational guidance where appropriate. Respond to medical information inquiries with high scientific and medical quality standards.
Monitor competitor activities and maintain deep knowledge of disease areas, treatment landscapes, and scientific developments. Support launch readiness activities and the introduction of new therapeutic areas and products. Ensure all activities are conducted in line with AstraZeneca's Code of Ethics, compliance standards, and applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
Essential Requirements University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, or a related life sciences field. Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of clinical research principles. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
Fluent English language skills. Strong digital literacy and proficiency with standard business applications. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Preferred Experience Experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of Rare Diseases or relevant therapeutic areas. Clinical practice, research, or healthcare experience.
Understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements. Experience engaging with healthcare professionals, researchers, or medical experts. Key Competencies Scientific curiosity and continuous learning mindset.
