ABOUT THE ROLE Role Description: In the face of a US health care system growing more complex day-by-day, we must constantly adapt and evolve our strategies to ensure our patients have appropriate access to our medicines. The US Value & Access (V&A) Insights Manager will play a critical role in monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing payer obstacles and challenges. The Value and Access Manager is responsible for analytics relating to managed care/organized customers and help shape payer & copay strategies for Value & Access Analytics insights organization .

The Role will be part of a cross functional analytics insights team to provide integrated analyses and insights to US Market access and Patient access and reimbursement team. This role is specifically responsible for providing insights impacting payer reimbursement strategies through secondary data analytics and data integration This position will report to the Senior Manager, Value & Access Insights team Responsibilities: Lead the analytics for US Value & Access rare disease Business unit Partner with US Coverage and Pricing, Contracting, Patient access & Reimbursement and other Commercial teams to build and prioritize analytics and insights plans in support of value and access strategy for Amgen brands Provide in-depth, expertise-based oversight and delivery of managed markets analysis including product formulary position, utilization management controls, customer segmentation and control/sophistication assessment. Develop frameworks & analytics to characterize the Rare Disease patient journey, including symptoms/diagnosis, referral pathways, treatment initiation, switching, discontinuation, and persistence Prepare, continuously refine and present periodic reports tracking product and portfolio performance against business objectives.

Execute analytics plan to support payer insights from various payer datasets based on detailed understanding of related datasets i.e Patient level claims data; Payer claims data; Formulary coverage; Specialty Pharmacy Data. Oversee efforts of 1-3 associates, including setting performance standards, managing their staffing, and monitoring performance Build and maintain strong relationships with cross functional partners; proactively seeks buy-in and provide ongoing support to address business needs Lead the development of analytics models to generate strategic actionable business insights using SQL, Python and Microsoft Excel Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 7 years of Information Systems experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with new product / indication launch especially in rare disease areas Prior working experience on Analytics of products with medical benefit and Pharmacy benefit usage Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payer experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payer environment and a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatic problem-solving approach, and manage execution Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles 5+ years of healthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care, and/or strategy consulting with specific experience and expertise in coverage, access and reimbursement drivers impacting the biopharmaceutical industry High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Experience with Databricks platform for data analytics Proficiency in any one of the languages - R, Python, SAS EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT Amgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
