About this role

The Company

Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes.

Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health.

That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health.

We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions.

We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.

Meet the Team

This mission-critical leadership role is responsible for defining and leading the company’s front-end innovation function, with accountability for identifying high-value growth opportunities and translating them into clear, differentiated, and actionable product concepts and demonstrate technical and market feasibility. The role establishes the strategic direction, operating model, decision framework and feasibility of innovation efforts focused on expanding the company’s sensing platform into new care settings, adjacent markets, new analytes, and disease states. This position will also play a leadership role in Dexcom’s corporate venture capital effort.

Operating at the intersection of strategy, clinical insight, product definition, design, and technology, this leader ensures the organization is pursuing the right opportunities and developing high-quality concepts that are clinically meaningful, strategically aligned, technically plausible, and ready for transition into formal development. The role is responsible for building and leading a small, high-caliber cross-functional team that owns the front end of innovation from opportunity identification through concept development, technical and market feasibility and handoff to downstream development organizations.

Where you come in

Establish and manage the strategic direction and priorities for an innovation pipeline to drive future opportunities for growth, including expansion beyond current core indications, new analytes, adjacent disease states, care settings, and new product concepts.

Build and lead integrated cross-functional and matrixed teams spanning market strategy, clinical and medical strategy, product concept leadership, product design, prototyping and technical feasibility.

Lead the creation and management of a robust innovation pipeline based on unmet customer and clinical needs, market attractiveness, strategic alignment, platform leverage, and competitive differentiation.

Ensure prioritized opportunities are translated into well-defined product concepts with clear target users, use cases, clinical and customer value, differentiated positioning, and concept-level requirements.

Integrate subject matter expertise across system architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, system integration, sensor technology, and algorithm technology to evaluate feasibility, resolve key technical uncertainties, and inform concept selection.

Ensure concepts are developed with sufficient clarity and rigor to support effective handoff into downstream product development teams.

Communicate innovation strategy, portfolio health, key risks, and major recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.

Maintain awareness of relevant external developments, including emerging technologies, evolving care models, competitor activity, clinical trends, and market shifts.

Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and help shape external innovation opportunities that are strategically aligned with Dexcom’s long-term growth priorities, technology roadmap, and platform expansion objectives, including the targeting of suitable corporate venture capital investment opportunities.

What makes you successful

Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through ambiguity.

Additional Experience (Strongly Preferred)

Familiarity with continuous sensing platforms, wearables, chronic disease management, or adjacent monitoring technologies.

Experience leading advanced technology, feasibility, or early prototyping teams that bridge research, systems engineering, sensor technology, algorithms, and downstream product development.

Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and create clarity from uncertainty.

Strong business and market acumen, including the ability to assess strategic fit, commercial potential, and competitive differentiation.
