Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you will take part in the design, assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning of specialised machines, gaining hands-on experience across electrical, mechanical and control systems.

Your responsibilities
- ✓Learn how to inspect and test advanced materials, carrying out quality checks and measurements to ensure they meet specifications.
- ✓Support laboratory testing activities and help evaluate how materials behave under different mechanical conditions.
- ✓Gain hands-on experience in creating electrical diagrams, wiring equipment, programming PLCs, and commissioning electro-mechanical machines.
- ✓Participate in the assembly, testing and operation of specialised machinery used in a cutting-edge engineering environment.
- ✓Work with experienced engineers and technicians to integrate new materials into innovative cables and coils for future technologies.

Your profile
- ✓Basic experience in electrical testing or material testing.
- ✓Basic experience in reading and drawing of circuit diagrams.
- ✓Experience in the cabling and commissioning of electrical cabinets or machines is an advantage.
- ✓Experience in mechanical assembly is an advantage.
Skills
- ✓Knowledge in instrumentation and data acquisition is an advantage.
- ✓Able to work independently and in teams.
- ✓Reliable and autonomous.
- ✓Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
Eligibility criteria
- ✓You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- ✓By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
- ✓You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- ✓Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
