Job Function: Customer Management Job Sub Function: External Customer/Product Training Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Bangalore, Karnataka, India Job Description: Position Summary: Responsible for planning and delivering Phaco education and training programs within the assigned geography, building clinical knowledge and skills related to product and procedure. Adheres to environmental policies and procedures and supports the department’s environmental objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver structured education on cataract surgery workflows, phaco techniques, and associated technologies to build clinical competence and surgeon confidence in performing Phaco. Plan and deliver scientific education programs and workshops using simulations, drills, and supervised practice as appropriate, aligned to defined learning objectives and competency levels; track effectiveness through feedback and competency assessments. Execute training plans across the assigned portfolio and ensure programs meet agreed learning outcomes (knowledge, skill, and confidence).

Partner closely with Sales and Marketing teams to gather field insights, conduct training needs analysis (TNA), and translate learner needs into training requirements; align program plans and training approach accordingly. Deliver training coverage as per the area plan, including scheduling, coordination, and completion of planned sessions. Track and report training effectiveness metrics while driving continuous improvement.

Provide learner support and follow-ups to reinforce skills, address queries, and support ongoing competency development for trainees and alumni. Promote evidence-based clinical practice by reinforcing safe technique and correct usage of product and procedure while adhering to agreed training standards. Design in-house training pathways based on learner needs; develop materials (agenda, simulations, checklists) and implement them after obtaining the required approvals.

Build and maintain strong relationships with trainee surgeons, trainer surgeons (faculty), and key clinical stakeholders to support program delivery. Ensure all training activities comply with applicable health care compliance policies; follow required approvals and documentation processes, maintain accurate training records, and reinforce patient safety and ethical interactions at all times. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum education required for competent performance: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Biomedical), or Optometry.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Training, Optometry, Surgical equipment sales/application, with a strong understanding of Ophthalmic care and relevant technical knowledge. Exposure to Phaco education/Phacoemulsification application is an added advantage.
