About the opportunity Join a multidisciplinary R&D environment focused on developing innovative bead-based materials for life science and diagnostic applications.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, synthesis, characterization, and optimization of functional materials that support cutting-edge molecular and diagnostic technologies. Working closely with scientists across assay development, molecular biology, and manufacturing, you will help translate scientific discoveries into robust and scalable products. Your Tasks Design, synthesize, and optimize bead-based materials for life science and diagnostic applications.
Characterize bead properties using analytical, physicochemical, and material characterization techniques. Develop, validate, and continuously improve quality control methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Investigate structure-property relationships and translate scientific findings into enhanced material performance.
Support the transfer of laboratory processes into scalable, robust, and reproducible manufacturing workflows. Collaborate with molecular biology and assay development teams to assess and optimize bead performance in biological applications. Present scientific results to cross-functional teams and contribute to technical reports, development documentation, and scientific knowledge sharing.
Your Profile PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. Experience in the synthesis and characterization of functional materials, polymers, particles, or bead-based technologies. Knowledge of analytical and physicochemical characterization techniques as well as a strong passion for hands-on laboratory work and experimental research Understanding of quality control principles, method development, and validation in a laboratory environment.
Ability to analyze experimental data, identify structure-property relationships, and solve complex scientific challenges. Strong communication skills in English and German as well as the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Interest in scientific innovation and staying informed about developments in functional materials, chromatography media, and related technologies.
