Please note this is a one year fixed term contract, working 39 hours per week. Depending on business needs the following shift patterns will be required:

Shift pattern (open to change)

11:30 - 20:00 Monday - Thursday, 11:30 - 19:00 Friday.

Purpose of the post

We are looking for a details driven person to join our Sample Registration and Preparation team. You will play a key role in the smooth running of our laboratory operations by ensuring every sample is received, checked, registered, prepared, stored, shipped, and disposed of accurately and on time. Working closely with internal Eurofins laboratories and subcontractor sites, you will help maintain exceptional service standards and support the full life cycle of sample handling.

  • Receive Samples — Check incoming deliveries, verify documentation, and ensure all samples meet submission requirements.
  • Register Samples in LIMS — Accurately enter sample information, assign tests, and generate compliant labels for full traceability.
  • Prepare Samples for Analysis — Split, homogenise, composite, shake, and pot samples according to method and matrix requirements.
  • Prioritise customer samples based on urgency and specific client requirements as necessary.
  • Manage Subcontract Shipments — Package and dispatch samples to Eurofins partner labs, including courier coordination and customs documentation.
  • Maintain Sample Storage — Store samples under correct conditions and manage retrieval and tracking.
  • Dispose of Samples — Carry out compliant disposal and update LIMS records in line with retention policies.
  • Handle Queries & Mailboxes — Manage shared inboxes, resolve information gaps, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams if required.
  • Support Material Requests — Process requests for consumables and preparation materials to keep workflows running smoothly.
  • Collaborate Across Teams — Work closely with internal labs, registration teams, and subcontract sites to maintain seamless service delivery.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as photocopying, data entry, and document handling as needed.
  • Follow Quality & Safety Standards — Adhere to ISO 17025, Eurofins Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental procedures at all times.
  • An interest in science, food, quality, or laboratory work — formal qualifications are welcome but not essential.
  • Willingness to learn and take part in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Experience in a laboratory, production, quality, or technical environment is helpful, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Understanding of quality standards or working in a regulated environment is an advantage but not required.
