About this role

About Terrestrial Bio, Inc.

Terrestrial is transforming the delivery of next-generation therapies, starting with GLP-1.

Terrestrial's proprietary Tacterra™ microarray patch (MAP) and applicator platform consists of a patch resembling an adhesive bandage, which is applied with a preloaded applicator and removed after a few minutes. Once applied, each patch delivers bioactive tips into the skin, which dissolve quickly into the body, rapidly releasing their therapeutic payload. Designed for self-administration, the temperature-stable Tacterra™ platform enables precise, controlled delivery of a wide range of therapeutics without medical sharps or refrigeration.

Terrestrial has generated strong clinical and in-vivo proof of concept across multiple molecules. For more information, visit www.terrestrialbio.com.

Why this role

At Terrestrial Bio, IT is not a shared service. It is a strategic capability that will determine whether a highly regulated, fast-moving manufacturing operation can scale without losing control, compliance, or speed. We are building from scratch. We need a senior leader who can own that build — and then own the function it becomes.

Senior IT leaders rarely get to make every foundational decision. At this stage, you will define the architecture, choose the systems, build the team, and set the operating model — before scale locks those decisions in. You will report to the SVP of Operations with a clear and near-term path to the CFO, reflecting IT’s role as a core business function, not a support cost. This is a VP-track role for the right operator.

The Senior Director of IT will be Terrestrial Bio’s first internal IT executive: responsible for designing, building, and leading the technology infrastructure for a company scaling from 60 to 120+ people across three sites, consolidating into a new headquarters within 18 months — and growing well beyond that.

This is not a maintenance role. This is a build role with an executive mandate.

What you'll do

You will establish the IT function from the ground up and carry it through the company’s next phase of growth. That means:

Setting IT strategy and architecture in a greenfield, regulated manufacturing environment

Building and leading the internal IT team — hiring, developing, and retaining talent as the company scales

Owning the full technology stack: infrastructure, cloud, ERP, SaaS, networking, and security

Executing a complex site transition — one location to three, then consolidating into a new HQ

Establishing GxP-compliant IT governance, data integrity frameworks, and audit-readiness

Serving as the executive IT partner to Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Operations

Managing IT budget, vendors, and contracts with appropriate rigor for a regulated environment

Who you are

10+ years in IT, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role

Demonstrated experience building or standing up an IT function, ideally as first-in-seat

Deep expertise in infrastructure, cloud architecture, ERP, and enterprise security

GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or equivalent regulated-industry IT compliance experience

Experience managing multi-site environments and major infrastructure transitions

Has built and led an IT function, not just managed one

Brings both startup scrappiness and enterprise discipline — and knows when to apply each

Understands GxP, data integrity, and the compliance expectations of regulated manufacturing

Can move fluently between infrastructure detail and board-level operational thinking

Has hired and developed IT teams in high-growth environments

Is trusted by engineers, operators, quality leaders, and executives alike

Preferred

Biotech, pharma, or medical device background strongly preferred

Experience supporting combination-product or device manufacturing a plus

B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

Your impact

Within 12–18 months

IT infrastructure deployed, stable, and trusted across all sites

HQ transition executed without operational disruption

IT team in place and performing

GxP-compliant governance and audit-readiness established

IT operating as a strategic partner — not a reactive support function

Architecture and systems capable of supporting the next stage of company scale
