Your Role

The Site Head is accountable for the on-time manufacturing of high-quality products in a safe, cost-efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. This strategic leadership role defines and drives the site’s operational vision, fostering an autonomous culture that promotes team ownership, accountability, and innovation.

This role is responsible for establishing and executing the long-term operational roadmap for the site while ensuring organizational readiness for future growth, operational excellence, and enterprise alignment. The Site Head will oversee Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Facilities, EHS and related operational functions while driving integration initiatives across systems, processes, governance, and infrastructure with MilliporeSigma.

The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational rigor and has a demonstrated ability to scale life science operations in a fast-paced environment supporting complex product portfolios across RUO and GMP environments.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Operations Leadership

  • Accountable for the on-time manufacturing of high-quality products in a safe, cost-efficient, and environmentally responsible manner
  • Develop and execute the multi-year strategic roadmap for site Operations aligned with growth objectives aligned and global/cluster objectives
  • Build scalable operational capabilities to support future commercial growth, product launches, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives focused on throughput, reliability, cost optimization, and organizational scalability.
  • Establish KPI-driven management systems and governance processes to improve accountability, visibility, and execution discipline.
  • Accountable for the development and execution of the site strategic vision aligned with global/cluster objectives and overall manufacturing performance
  • Oversees budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation across site operations to ensure alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Responsible for facility management including ownership of vendor contracts, lease management, and engineering/maintenance management (Mirus Bio site)

Quality & ISO9001 Leadership

  • Accountable for the strategic Quality roadmap for the organization, including development and execution of an enterprise-ready ISO9001 framework.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen Quality Systems, documentation practices, risk management, deviation management, and CAPA effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely and sustainable CAPA closure activities through strong cross-functional accountability and root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Partner with Regulatory, R&D, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to ensure quality standards support both innovation and operational scalability.
  • Build inspection and audit readiness capabilities consistent with enterprise expectations and customer requirements.

Supply Chain & External Network Optimization

  • Develop and implement a robust secondary supplier strategy to improve supply continuity, resiliency, and risk mitigation across critical materials and components.
  • Optimize the external CDMO and supplier network to support scalability, quality, service levels, and cost efficiency.
  • Establish supplier governance frameworks, performance metrics, and risk management processes across external partners.
  • Partner with sourcing and procurement teams within MilliporeSigma to leverage enterprise capabilities and strategic supplier relationships.

Enterprise Integration Leadership

  • Serve as the operational lead for integration activities with MilliporeSigma across systems, processes, governance, and organizational alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional integration initiatives related to ERP, Quality Systems, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, EHS, and operational processes.
  • Leads enterprise-wide initiatives in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and enhance safety, quality,efficiency and throughput.
  • Balance integration objectives with preservation of business agility, customer responsiveness, and innovation velocity.
  • Build strong relationships across enterprise stakeholders to ensure alignment, prioritization, and effective execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Expectation of up to 25% travel including internationally
  • Leverages digital tools, automation, and advanced analytics to enable smarter decision-making, improve transparency, and drive predictive and prescriptive operational insights.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a regulated industry (pharma, biotech, or chemicals).
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems (GMP/GLP, QMS, CAPA, deviation management) and regulatory inspections.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or equivalent standards.
  • Demonstrated success in LEAN/continuous improvement, TPM, and batch manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and drive a safety-first culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA.
  • Experience with audits and regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, EMA, local authorities).
  • Familiarity with MES/ERP systems and data analytics.
  • Previous role as a plant/department manager or operations director.
  • International experience and ability to operate effectively in a global matrix organization
  • Understanding of EHS standards and site risk management

Location

This position is preferred to be site based in our Madison, WI location.

Pay Range: $162,600-$238,900

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
