In this role, you'll develop monitoring reports that directly support the quality and safety of clinical trials across our global portfolio. Your new role As an Associate Functional Programmer, you will generate and maintain monitoring reports that support Risk-Based Quality Management (RBQM) across Novo Nordisk's clinical trial portfolio.

You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights that safeguard trial quality and patient safety. Your key responsibilities will include: Generating standard and customised monitoring reports (Trial, Central, Medical Monitoring, and Risk Indicator reports) to support RBQM across the trial portfolio Developing new programs or customising existing ones using tools such as Central Monitoring Platform (CMP), Qlik Sense, SQL, SAS, JMP, Power BI, Databricks, Python, and R – integrating data from multiple sources Understanding stakeholder requirements and preparing detailed specifications for report development Producing ad-hoc reports (e.g., AESI, Data Cleaning cycles, Protocol deviations, Site Data Entry statuses, Subject lists) for various stakeholder groups Creating validation documentation, conducting peer reviews of programs and reports, and designing report templates using data models or mock data Participating in monitoring report meetings, recording minutes, providing input on data availability, and following up on action items Your new department In Research & Development, you'll be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies.

Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs. You will be based in our Global Business Services centre in Bengaluru, working as part of the Trial Monitoring & Reporting team. The team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of clinical trial data through robust reporting frameworks.

You'll collaborate daily with colleagues at headquarters and across our global clinical operations, with opportunities for international travel for training and stakeholder engagement. Your skills & qualifications We're looking for a detail-oriented and curious Associate Functional Programmer who thrives in a collaborative, data-driven environment. You'll bring with you: A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Clinical Information Management, or an equivalent qualification 1–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably including 1–2 years within clinical data management systems, bioinformatics, or as a Clinical Research Associate Basic proficiency in at least one programming language such as SAS, SQL, Python, or R, with the ability to identify technical solutions for data challenges Familiarity with drug development processes, basic medical terminology, GxP guidelines, and computer system validation processes Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for data analytics and statistical concepts, combined with proficiency in written and spoken English and the ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural environment Working at Novo Nordisk Every day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases.
