The Associate Director, Trade Program Solutions – Immunology (ISN) influences the strategic direction, and leads governance, and lifecycle management of ISN programs. This Immunology focused role is accountable for translating Brand and Trade priorities into compliant, scalable contracting and program operations that support an exceptional patient experience across AbbVie’s portfolio.
- ✓Own accountability for ISN’s complex contracting and program operations, and the operating discipline needed to deliver consistent business impact.
- ✓Serve as a senior cross-functional partner to Trade Account Executives, Marketing Strategists, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Medical/clinical stakeholders as appropriate, and external specialty/retail pharmacy, infusion, service, and data partners.
- ✓Distinguish strategic leadership and decision support from transactional execution by setting priorities, defining governance, resolving escalations, and ensuring accountable program delivery.
Organizational Context
Market Access Trade engages channel stakeholders to provide access to product, services, and resources for an exceptional patient experience. Trade Program Solutions supports Trade Account Executives and Marketing Strategists through performance management, resource stewardship, compliant program delivery, and channel contracting.
Within this context, the Associate Director leads the Infusions Services Network (ISN) and advances the strategic integration of specialty and retail pharmacy, infusion, service, and data-partner programs. The role aligns contracting, operational processes, analytics, and stakeholder engagement to enable high-impact, consistently delivered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- ✓Lead ISN contracting strategy, operating governance, and lifecycle management from program design through implementation, optimization, renewal, or transition.
- ✓Develop and direct contracting strategy for specialty and retail pharmacy CDAs, FFS and data SOWs, MSAs, Advisory Boards, and customer engagement events across applicable therapeutic areas.
- ✓Provide senior oversight of the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including Fair Market Value review, drafting and redlining, negotiation coordination, approvals, signature, purchase-order readiness, implementation, documentation, and invoice reconciliation.
- ✓Establish governance, prioritization, and escalation mechanisms for contract flow based on program expirations, business need, approval requirements, risk considerations, and available budget.
- ✓Own ISN budget stewardship and forecast accountability, using invoice reconciliation, resource planning, and forward-looking analysis to inform business decisions.
- ✓Set expectations for operational excellence, including vendor and purchasing readiness after execution, complete contract documentation in the designated contract-management process, and disciplined program controls.
- ✓Partner with Legal and Compliance to embed risk-based review and adherence to applicable corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines.
- ✓Lead performance analytics and management routines that translate program, partner, financial, and operational insights into recommendations and corrective actions.
- ✓Build capabilities across internal stakeholders and external partners through clear operating expectations, effective communications, and practical guidance on program and contracting requirements.
Leadership and Scope
- ✓Lead the ISN as an Immunology program portfolio, aligning channel needs, access priorities, partner capabilities, and operational execution across multiple cross-functional initiatives.
- ✓Influence senior and cross-functional stakeholders without relying on unsupported assumptions regarding direct people management; drive decisions through credible analysis, clear governance, and accountable follow-through.
- ✓Balance strategic portfolio direction with hands-on ownership of complex, time-sensitive contracting and program issues requiring sound judgment and attention to detail.
- ✓Represent Trade Program Solutions in partner and stakeholder forums, aligning internal teams and external specialty/retail pharmacy, infusion, service, and data partners around compliant, scalable solutions.
- ✓Bachelor’s degree required.
- ✓Minimum of 3 years of contract drafting and redlining experience, including at least 2 years in a client-side environment.
- ✓Demonstrated contract drafting, negotiation coordination, financial acumen, and budget-management capability.
- ✓Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple complex cross-functional initiatives.
- ✓Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- ✓Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- ✓Track record of sustained, high-level contribution across multiple projects and processes, with rigorous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓Legal or paralegal experience.
- ✓Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience.
- ✓Experience supporting specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, infusion, service, or healthcare data partner arrangements.
- ✓Experience applying governance and lifecycle-management practices to contractual programs or external partner portfolios.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of thisposting based on the job grade for this position.
