Alcon Canada’s Vision Care Marketing team is looking for a Senior Brand Manager to lead the marketing strategy and execution of our #1 brands in the eye care category.
The Senior Brand Manager will lead two direct reports, providing coaching and development while building a high-performing marketing team. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing clearly defined marketing strategies to develop our #1 OTC eye care portfolio. This includes driving brand growth, improving brand equity, and generating short- and long-term ROI for our brands.
This role is multi-channel growing our brands through marketing directly to consumers, and to Health Care Professionals, including Optometrists, Ophthalmologists and Pharmacists. This role is based at our Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario , where our teams work together in person five days a week to support close collaboration, faster decision-making, and strong team development. In this role a typical day will include: Lead, coach, and develop two direct reports, while providing broader mentorship to interns and other members of the marketing team.
Develop and execute short- and long-term marketing strategies and tactical plans for designated OTC brands, including advertising and promotions, pricing, and distribution channel management, to generate demand and drive sales, market share, and profitability. Deliver strong, relevant commercial programs that entice consumers to trust and try our brands and drive influence for Alcon product recommendations based on consumer and customer insights. Execute new product launches to accelerate growth.
Partner with Regional and Global Marketing teams to collaborate on launch timings and resource allocation and ensure strategy and tactical execution of new product launches is strong. Define channel product positioning and competitive selling strategies. Conduct analysis of specific business issues and evaluate competitive activity, product performance and marketing communications and proactively share findings.
Lead, coach, and develop two direct reports, while providing broader mentorship to interns and other members of the marketing team. Motivate both internal and third-party salesforces focused on Retailers and HCPs (Optometrists and Pharmacists) through partnering on insights-gathering through to tactical execution. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve objectives; Stakeholders include Regional & Global Marketing, National Retail Accounts, Customer Excellence, LifeCycle Management, Field Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and Senior Management.
Work closely with agency partners (creative, media, PR, shopper) to develop, evaluate, execute, and track advertising/promotions. Leverage alliances with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to drive scientific understanding of our brands with customers and consumers. A&P budget & sample management – forecasting and adherence.
Seek financial improvements, including pricing, mix, promotions, ROI on marketing and promotional expenditures. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred B.Sc. or Bachelor of Commerce) The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English, French is an asset. 5+ years brand management experience in CPG or OTC National & US Travel (20%).
Occasional weekend and evening work (i.e. conferences, meetings, customer events). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Co-pilot), Major industry data programs e.g.
Nielsen Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years brand management experience in CPG or OTC and 2-3 years sales experience. Talented in developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Aptitude with both qualitative and quantitative data to distil insights for action.
Robust ability to plan, manage and execute multiple projects with conflicting deadlines. Effective at developing and delivering compelling presentations. Salary Range: $117,390 – $176,085 CAD.
