If so, this Launch Readiness & Excellence Lead role in Colombia could be an exciting opportunity for you. Job Purpose As Launch Readiness & Excellence Lead – Colombia , you will build and lead the end-to-end launch excellence capability for the country, ensuring the organization is prepared to maximize the value of an unprecedented pipeline of new medicines and vaccines. With 11 launches expected over the next five years , additional opportunities from business development and acquisitions, and a potentially accelerating regulatory environment, you will ensure priority assets are assessed and prepared sufficiently early — in selected cases at least 36 months before launch.
Reporting directly to the General Manager Colombia , you will bring a portfolio-wide and BU-neutral perspective, connecting pipeline strategy, investment decisions, launch readiness and post-launch learning with Colombia's long-term ambition. Your Responsibilities This role will provide you the opportunity to lead key activities to progress your career; these responsibilities include: Shape the launch portfolio and investment decisions Maintain an integrated 3–5-year view of the Colombia pipeline, identifying assets that require early engagement by the local operating company. Coordinate cross-functional opportunity assessments across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance and Supply, building and challenging business cases that capture market potential, investment needs, risks and critical dependencies.
Develop clear recommendations for the Pipeline Forum (GO / DELAY / NO-GO plus required investment). Own and continuously improve the Colombia Launch Excellence system Design, adopt and continuously enhance the country Launch Excellence framework, governance model, KPIs and readiness standards, leveraging appropriate tools and technology. Lead country Launch Readiness Reviews (LRRs), ensuring early identification, tracking and escalation of critical gaps, and providing the General Manager and Leadership Team with a clear view of portfolio readiness and key decisions required.
Orchestrate cross-functional launch readiness Drive integrated launch readiness across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply, Finance and Data & Analytics. Anticipate critical requirements such as real-world evidence (RWE), payer engagement, access models, regulatory pathways, supply continuity and field force readiness. Challenge assumptions, resolve cross-functional dependencies and escalate issues that require enterprise-level decisions.
Enable brand ownership and institutionalize learning Following a GO decision, support the mobilization and onboarding of dedicated Product Launch Leads. Provide the framework within which Product Launch Leads own and execute their asset plans, ensuring clarity of roles, milestones and success metrics. Lead post-launch reviews and translate lessons learned into reusable capabilities, standards and playbooks across brands and therapeutic areas.
Act as a portfolio strategist and launch orchestrator Serve as a key thought partner to the General Manager and BU Heads on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation and sequencing of launches. Connect Colombia launch plans with Regional and Global launch teams to ensure alignment of expectations, timelines and performance metrics. Key relationships You will work closely with BU Heads, Product Launch Leads and Product Managers, as well as Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance, Supply, Commercial Operations/Data & Analytics, Government Affairs, and Regional and Global launch excellence teams.
What success looks like Success means Colombia makes better launch investment decisions earlier, launches with fewer critical readiness gaps, and systematically gets better with every launch. Key indicators include timely portfolio decisions, robust business cases, early resource mobilization, readiness against agreed milestones, faster resolution of critical barriers, and reuse of learnings across launches. Basic Qualifications We are looking for professionals with these required skills: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Engineering or a related field. 8–12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Proven experience leading product launches , including experience with Solid Tumours or similarly complex specialty care launches.
Strong strategic and commercial acumen, including business-case development and investment assessment. Solid understanding of pharmaceutical launches and the interdependencies across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Supply and Finance. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
Fluency in Spanish and strong professional proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Experience in product/brand leadership or commercial strategy roles. Demonstrated experience launching innovative medicines; Solid Tumours launch experience will be highly valued.
Background in Business Unit or portfolio strategy, with a clear portfolio mindset and the ability to prioritize across brands and BUs rather than advocate for a single asset. Experience in Market Access or payer strategy, including pricing, value communication and engagement with key payers. Exposure to New Product Planning, pipeline, business development and/or launch readiness frameworks.
Experience in regional or global roles, collaborating with cross-country teams. Experience across multiple functions and/or geographies. Working model This role is based in Colombia and is on-site with flexibility for hybrid working as agreed with the hiring manager.
