Your new role As a Senior Scientist, you will drive our obesity and cardiometabolic portfolio by contributing disease and biology expertise, advancing projects in cross-functional matrix teams, and supporting future pipeline innovation for the benefit of patients. You will guide the scientific direction of the projects, generate timely and decision enabling in vitro biology and pharmacology data packages to support project progression. You will establish ex vivo and human relevant in vitro assays to clarify the mode of action of new drug candidates progressing toward the clinic.

Your key responsibilities will include: Be a subject matter expert within obesity and cardiometabolic diseases to lead idea generation and maturation, with a focus on drug product innovation and pipeline gaps to cater for the future pipeline. Be the biology representative in project teams defining the in vitro plans and ensuring timely progression of the ongoing projects. Proactively strengthen the Mechanism of Action narrative for novel drug candidates and further develop our state-of-the-art in vitro and ex vivo experimental platforms to support the obesity and cardiometabolic pipeline It is an advantage to have deep understanding of receptor pharmacology including; bias and partial agonists, allosteric modulators, receptor occupancy, receptor kinetics etc. with focus on primary human cells.

It is an advantage to have drug development understanding. In addition, expertise within bioinformatics is an advantage, but not a demand. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the Obesity Biology team function and relevant project managers and other stakeholders across the organization with a constructive, collaborative, problem-solving and “go-do” mindset.

You will maintain in-depth disease knowledge within cardio-metabolic space and foster and sustain necessary external interactions/collaborations with Key Opinion Leaders, while contributing to publications as the Obesity assets advance into and progress in the clinic. Your new department The Emerging Obesity Mechanisms department is a team of 15 colleagues, including scientists, laboratory technicians, PhD students, and a director. Based in Måløv, Denmark, the department works in a matrix organization to support multiple projects and help advance key assets in our pipeline.

The team is dedicated, collaborative, fast paced, and focused on delivering meaningful impact for patients. Your skills and qualifications To thrive in this position, we imagine that you have: PhD in a relevant field (e.g. biochemistry, pharmacology, or related discipline) At least 5 years of experience in drug discovery and development, with a focus on obesity biology Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment Strong track record of scientific publications and presentations in relevant fields On a personal level, you work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Furthermore, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will allow you to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and other professionals within and outside of the organization.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000 to 956,900 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position.
