As Director External Supply Organization, you will act as the central interface between assigned CDMOs and BioNTech, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and strategic development of our external manufacturing network.
This role is critical for driving BioNTech’s supply strategy and enhancing our protein and mRNA production capabilities. Your Responsibilities: Serve as the central interface between assigned CDMOs and BioNTech to ensure smooth operations and supply, as well as effective communication and collaboration Lead interdisciplinary teams, including SMEs from AS&T, QC, MS&T, Procurement, CMC, Supply Chain, QA, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, and other areas to manage CDMO performance effectively (incl. KPI target setting, review processes, and CAPA implementation) Lead contract negotiations and act as the first escalation point for challenges within the external production network Execute, manage, and/or support projects at CDMOs such as continuous improvement initiatives or technology transfers Support the supply strategy process with a focus on BioNTech's protein pipeline and mRNA pipeline; knowledge in protein and mRNA manufacturing is preferred Drive strategic account development of CDMOs within BioNTech's external production network (incl. resource planning and budgeting) A good match: Completed degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, international business management, engineering or life sciences 5–7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with a focus on external supply/CDMO/supplier relationship management Strong leadership qualities with proven project management skills and stakeholder management experience to lead interdisciplinary teams effectively Excellent communication skills with a strong track record in contract negotiations Strategic mindset combined with operational expertise; ability to make flexible yet thorough decisions in a dynamic environment Profound knowledge of EMA/FDA regulatory standards as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Business-fluent English; German is a plus Your Benefits: Company Pension Scheme Childcare Jobticket Company Bike Special Vacation ... and much more.
