You will be part of a dynamic team supporting the team on various accounting activities. Support on a timely and accurate monthly close, support on reconciliation of all relevant Balance Sheets Accounts in line with company policy and maintaining a robust control environment.
Job description
In this exciting and highly visible role you will make an impact by supporting the financial accounting activities of the EMEA SSC team:
- ✓Responsible for Monthly closing process for some countries including:
- ✓Standard and non-standard monthly journal postings
- ✓Month end accruals review and posting
- ✓Payroll entries, including review of payroll data, mapping and related supporting documentation.
- ✓Control, maintain and present monthly balance sheet reconciliations and balance sheet flux to management and internal/external auditors for assigned legal entities.
- ✓Coordinate Internal and external audits for assigned legal entities.
- ✓Review foreign currency revaluations, FX exposures and related month-end accounting impacts.
- ✓Preparation of local statutory Financial Statements & Tax packs and related audit follow-up for assigned entities.
- ✓Own and drive improvements to EMEA financial processes by contributing to process standardization, automation and quality improvements across close, reconciliation and statutory reporting activities.
- ✓Support and follow up on Internal Control mechanisms and actively participate in SOX audit field work with respect to entities in scope and the area of your expertise (SME role)
- ✓Assist with other ad-hoc accounting projects as necessary. Such projects may include system upgrades and testing of controls (SOX).
Your profile
To be successful in this role, we expect the candidate to bring the following skills and experience:
- ✓Accounting associate or bachelor’s degree. ACCA, CPA or relevant professional qualifications are a strong asset.
- ✓4-6 years of solid experience on accounting within an international / US organization.
- ✓Technically skilled with experience of month end reporting and reconciliations for multiple European entities. Experience with preparation of local statutory financial statements is a plus.
- ✓Working knowledge of US GAAP regulations and in-depth experience on compliance and accounting requirements of listed international companies gained within EMEA jurisdictions
- ✓A ‘hands on’ work style, comfortable with the detail, and able to move seamlessly between tactical and strategic issues as required.
- ✓Proficiency with ERP system(s) (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office with solid Excel skills
- ✓Ability to meet tight deadlines, handle a demanding and fluctuating workload and at the same time provide accurate and reliable data.
- ✓Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail with a steadiness under pressure.
- ✓Solid communication and presentation skills
- ✓Confident, enthusiastic and a team player
- ✓Fluent in English
