Your new role As the Legal & Compliance Counsel for Malaysia, you will partner with the Legal, Compliance & Quality Senior Manager to advise the Malaysia affiliate on legal matters and build an effective compliance programme focused on prevention, detection and response.
Your key responsibilities will include: Ensuring compliance with Malaysian laws by collaborating with BASEA, APAC and IO Legal Teams, identifying legal trends and sharing insights with relevant affiliate functions, while providing high-quality legal support for key projects, disputes and arbitrations, including coordination with external law firms Establishing a comprehensive compliance communication programme covering healthcare professional interactions, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, privacy, fraud, bribery and appropriate use of company assets Harmonising Business Ethics policies and procedures within the Malaysia affiliate, developing compliance training material and conducting training sessions across the value chain Documenting internal investigation cases, supporting Data Privacy protection implementation and ensuring compliance with both local and global data protection requirements Assisting functions such as Business Ethics Compliance Office, Group Internal Audit, International Operations and regional offices by collecting and coordinating internal legal and compliance data, and ensuring effective legal document and contract management Your new department You will join the Malaysia affiliate Legal & Compliance department, reporting directly to the Legal, Compliance & Quality Senior Manager. In this team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our operations, advising stakeholders across the business and strengthening our compliance culture. This is a visible, strategic position where your counsel shapes how we operate ethically and responsibly in a dynamic regulatory environment.
Your skills & qualifications We are looking for a self-motivated professional with strong personal integrity and a genuine commitment to ethical standards. You'll bring with you: A minimum of 2–5+ years' Post-Qualification Experience with LLB qualifications from a recognised university, and standing as a qualified Advocate & Solicitor in Malaysia with solid experience from an in-house role or a reputable law firm Basic healthcare experience, particularly within the pharmaceutical industry would be an added advantage Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with a proven ability to translate complex compliance issues into clear, simple terms The personality and professional stature to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation Proficiency in adopting technology to deliver practical legal and compliance solutions Working at Novo Nordisk Every day we seek the solutions that defeat serious chronic diseases.
