About the role: As a Manager, Microsoft 365 Platform Operations , you will lead the operational management, governance, reliability, and continuous improvement of Takeda’s Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity platforms. You will oversee services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview.
The role combines people leadership, service ownership, incident management, security governance, automation, and strategic platform transformation. How you will contribute: Lead operational support and service delivery for Microsoft 365 collaboration, messaging, and productivity platforms. Ensure platform availability, performance, reliability, and operational stability through monitoring and governance.
Manage maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, service transitions, and technical debt reduction. Lead major incident response, service restoration, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Establish operational standards and support processes to reduce recurring incidents.
Oversee mail flow, mailbox governance, Teams administration, information protection, and collaboration controls. Manage tenant-wide changes while minimizing business disruption. Partner with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams on retention, access management, information protection, identity governance, and audit controls.
Assess operational risks and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for automation, self-service, scripting, and AI-enabled operations. Use service performance data and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Manage vendor relationships, SLAs, operational KPIs, and service quality. Lead and mentor Microsoft 365 engineers and platform specialists. Set team priorities and standards while supporting coaching, development, and a culture of ownership and innovation.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, digital workplace, and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives. What you bring to Takeda: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise collaboration and productivity platforms.
3+ years of experience leading technical operations or platform engineering teams. Advanced expertise in Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview. Strong knowledge of identity and access management, security, compliance, and governance controls.
Experience leading major incident management and service restoration. Strong understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Level Management. Experience managing enterprise vendors and service providers.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is a must. Preferred Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Security, Compliance, Identity, or ITIL certification.
Experience with PowerShell, automation frameworks, and cloud operations. Experience implementing AI-enabled operational improvements and platform automation. Leadership Expectations You will establish priorities, manage operational goals, and ensure delivery against service commitments.
