The Finance Director leads all finance and accounting activities for the Kansas City site for the PCH business stream. The Finance Director also serves on the site leadership team to provide financial analysis and forecasting. The position frequently communicates with Segment Leadership and Site Leadership regarding site operational and financial matters.
Additional responsibilities include development of financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures, and the organization's relationship with stakeholders, both internal and external. The individual will provide leadership to the Finance function with overall responsibility for management and development of the department. The Role: Lead and oversee the site accounting function, including policies, procedures, budgetary controls, and financial governance.
Provide financial decision support and strategic insights to site leadership and functional teams. Manage, mentor, and develop the Finance team, ensuring high performance and professional growth. Oversee client billing, cash collections, financial reporting, and monthly close and forecasting activities for the Kansas City site.
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including timeline management, analysis, reporting, and presentations to leadership. Conduct monthly P&L variance analysis and proactively deliver accurate financial reporting and business performance insights. Drive revenue forecasting and ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards, policies, controls, and documentation requirements.
Maintain strong internal controls, corporate governance, SOX compliance, and audit readiness while supporting internal and external audits. Evaluate proposed investments, capital projects, and company assets to support sound financial decision-making. Represent Finance on site leadership teams and cross-functional projects while identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost management.
The Candidate: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a finance leadership role within a medium-to-large organization. Manufacturing industry experience required, preferably within pharmaceutical manufacturing; Lean implementation experience is a plus.
CPA, CMA, MBA, or other advanced professional credentials strongly preferred. Deep expertise in GAAP and financial accounting principles, with a consultative yet results-driven approach. Strong experience with ERP systems; knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE) and OneStream is advantageous.
Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and capital investment evaluation skills, including payback and cash flow analysis. Proven ability to prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to leadership teams. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge assumptions.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and audit knowledge, with the ability to perform complex financial analyses and meet demanding deadlines under pressure.
