This role

The Senior Machinist is a key member of a high-performing manufacturing support team responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment and tooling within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, this position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations through precision machining, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

✓Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient machine shop environment while supporting manufacturing operations.
✓Manage project activities, including cost tracking, material procurement, consumable inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
✓Repair and refurbish manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment as required.
✓Set up, program, and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and grinders.
✓Inspect and verify finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to drawings and quality standards.
✓Utilize CMM equipment to inspect, measure, and reverse-engineer components.
✓Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
✓Maintain accurate documentation and records.
✓Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
✓Support continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications and Experience

Required qualifications

✓High School Diploma or GED.
✓Minimum of five years of machining experience or a machining-related technical degree.
✓Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
✓Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills.
✓Strong knowledge of machining practices and precision tolerances.
✓Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications

✓TIG welding experience.
✓Metal fabrication experience.
✓Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Physical and Safety Requirements

✓Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
✓Ability to lift up to 20 pounds overhead.
✓Ability to stand for extended periods.
✓Ability to wear required PPE.
✓Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
