Position Summary
The Laboratory Team Lead is responsible for leading Laboratory staff and supporting Laboratory management. This includes managing the staffing schedule and completion of work, resolving problems and assisting staff with questions, as well as responding to Customer questions. The Team Lead performs employee on-boarding and training duties, monitors the work of staff and conveys feedback.
In addition, the Team Lead is responsible for performing routine production work analysis of results, overseeing inventory, and gathering and communicating metrics. This is a Monday-Friday day shift position.
Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm

The pay range for this opportunity is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour based on experience.
What You'll Do as a Laboratory Team LeadDuties
- ✓Performs Laboratory testing, analyzes results, assists with media preparation (as applicable)

- ✓Supports Supervisor through process management; tracking operations metrics, creating production schedules, and addressing issues as they arise. Facilitates process improvement and maintains a high level of communication to team, leadership, and Customers as applicable. (20%)
- ✓Communicates with Customers about the overall timelines of projects, delivery of laboratory services, and technical details of the testing. (10%)
- ✓Executes training for specific laboratory tests and facilitates cross training within the facility. (10%)
- ✓Gathers basic information from customer and creates/edits customer-specific preparatory methods Prepares technical documents such as work instructions and test methods. (10%)
- ✓Updates, review, and approves procedural documents. (10%)
- ✓This position may require the use of equipment and / or power tools, as applicable.
- ✓This position may require the incumbent to obtain their boilers license, as applicable.
- ✓Contributes in a team effort by performing in accordance to all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
- ✓A bachelors degree with 2 years of lab experience OR an associates degree with 4 years of lab experience OR a high school diploma or GED with 6 years of lab experience.
- ✓Must be available to participate in the on call schedule.
- ✓Strong microbiology background is preferred.
- ✓Standard aseptic techniques and/or common laboratory equipment use
- ✓Good manufacturing principals
- ✓Good documentation practices
- ✓Microsoft Word and Excel (Minimum Intermediate).
- ✓Organizing, planning, and prioritizing tasks.
- ✓Performing basic mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals and dilution schemes.
- ✓Prioritizing the adherence to safety protocol at all times and monitoring self and environment for.
- ✓Assisting and training Laboratory Technicians I and Laboratory Assistants.
- ✓Monitor self and environment to make improvements or take corrective action.
- ✓Read and comprehend rules, schedules, procedures and instructions.
- ✓Work in high pressure situations.
- ✓Adapt to rapidly changing requirements or work environment.
- ✓Work well in a team environment.
- ✓Work autonomously.
- ✓Perform duties that require physical demands throughout the day such as standing, twisting, and lifting and exerting force of up to 25 lbs.
- ✓Work with tools and equipment requiring effective hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- ✓Balance workload and adjust schedule according to changing priorities.

Pay range for this opportunity is $28.00 - $32.00, depending on experience and skillset. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
