Introduction to position: The Intern for AI Solutions and Automation will help build the future of Oncology Business Excellence.
They will find opportunities where AI, automation, and digital workflows simplify work, improve decision-making, and enhance business performance. Collaborating with senior partners in the Oncology Business Unit, the intern will invent, prototype, and deploy AI-enabled applications. These applications are built on Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and other enterprise tools to help advance OBEX's transformation agenda.

Work directly with senior leaders shaping the future of Oncology Business Excellence. Gain hands-on experience at the intersection of AI, healthcare, business strategy, and modernization through digital initiatives. Help define how AI-enabled approaches to work will evolve within a leading biopharmaceutical organization.
Responsibilities may include: Map and document workflows within existing and emerging OBEX capability areas, including current local approaches, workflow maturity, difficulties, manual steps, rework, and opportunities for AI-enabled improvement. Partner with OBEX stakeholders to prioritize AI workflow use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, scalability, and alignment to future functional scope. Support the design and build of workflow solutions, copilots, AI agents, automations, dashboards, and knowledge management solutions using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and Power BI.
Develop prototypes, prompts, agent instructions, workflow logic, testing scripts, documentation, and user guides for internal use. Test AI and automation outputs for accuracy, usability, compliance alignment, and fit-for-purpose business application in a regulated environment. Support adoption and change management through training materials, quick-start guides, demos, office hours, and structured feedback collection.
Track adoption, usage, user feedback, and productivity impact to inform iteration, scale-up, and future capability planning. Maintain clear documentation of requirements, assumptions, design decisions, governance considerations, and lessons learned to support repeatable implementation. Explore how AI can strengthen future OBEX capabilities across business excellence, insights, planning, forecasting, learning, customer engagement, and decision support.
Qualifications: Currently enrolled in or recently completed an undergraduate, graduate, or professional program in business, life sciences, health sciences, data analytics, computer science, engineering, digital innovation, or a related field. Strong interest in AI, workflow automation, digital transformation, commercial strategy, or healthcare innovation. Comfortable learning new digital tools and translating business problems into structured workflow designs.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. High attention to detail, with a strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and compliance expectations in a regulated environment.
Essential Skills: Experience with Microsoft 365, Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Power BI, or similar low-code/no-code platforms. Familiarity with process mapping, user requirements gathering, user testing, dashboarding, or workflow documentation. Basic understanding of prompt engineering, AI agents, automation logic, or data visualization.
Experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, consulting, commercialization, marketing, analytics, or customer engagement is an asset. Ability to simplify complex information into clear documentation, slide-ready summaries, and practical user enablement materials. Desired Skills: Familiarity with generative AI platforms, AI agents, prompt engineering, retrieval-based knowledge systems, or workflow automation.
Experience designing user-centric digital solutions, process improvements, or data-driven decision support tools. Curiosity about how AI is reshaping work, healthcare, and business operations. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.
In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances. In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).
