Job Summary Baxter International is seeking a skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team on a mission to save and sustain lives through a growing portfolio of connected devices. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administration, operation and monitoring of customers facing digital health applications and platforms deployed in the Baxer’s Azure cloud platform. You will also be responsible for defining and documenting processes to ensure that required security, privacy, and other compliance standards are maintained.
What you’ll be doing Drive strategies to ensure 24x7 availability of services and business continuity for customers facing healthcare software applications and platforms hosted on Microsoft Azure cloud. Manage and administer Azure resources, including virtual machines, databases, and networking components. Defining and document operating procedures to ensure required security, privacy and other compliance standards are maintained for digital solutions deployed in cloud.
Manage process, planning, and execution for Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Define and refine Operations SLAs to maintain high level of Customer Satisfaction. Establish non-functional requirements to meet SLAs. Establish infrastructure and application monitoring dashboards and workflow for automatic routing of notifications.
Define key performance indicators that can be monitored, measured, and used to derive opportunities. Standardize site metrics for stakeholders, reporting on various KPIs including SLAs, availability, capacity utilization, service metrics and cost utilization. Work closely with DevOps Engineers to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes.
Participate in a weekly on-call rotation providing support for after hours, weekends and holidays as needed. What you’ll bring Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Prior working experience in Site Reliability Engineering managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications Enterprise related engineering experience in 24x7 uptime, regulated environments.
Proven experience in Product, Platform, and system planning and operations. Proven experience in Azure administration and operations leveraging azure monitoring services. Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
Working knowledge of related technologies including cloud, encryption, IPsec, VLANs, VPNs, routing, WAF/firewalls, proxy services, LAN/WAN connectivity, advanced security & threat protection. Experience with systems administration, including Windows and Linux environments. Experience in proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Ability to lead the processes to produce and maintain accurate documentation and operational reports. Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss, and explain issues coherently and logically, both in writing and verbally.
