The Staff Development Engineer is responsible for leading complex medical device development and manufacturing initiatives from concept through sustaining.

The role solves advanced technical challenges, leads cross-functional projects, and recommends best practices that improve products, processes, and services. This position reports to the Director, Engineering and is part of the Engineering team located in Cincinnati, Ohio and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to : Lead device development and strategic engineering initiatives in collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Lead advanced design for manufacturing and assembly analyses and work with the design team to incorporate findings into product concepts. Qualify complex components, manufacturing processes, and assembly systems using appropriate validation methodologies and support design reviews to mitigate potential risks. Lead product and process improvement initiatives, develop engineering standards and best practices, and perform structured problem solving to address complex technical challenges.

Influence product strategy, technology roadmaps, and business planning activities while providing technical leadership, mentorship, and engineering expertise across the organization. The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a technical discipline. Demonstrated progression of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or related technical disciplines.

Preferred candidates will possess 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience, including 6 or more years supporting product development and manufacturing activities. Experience developing products within regulated or highly technical industries and applying quality and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Prior experience in medical device development, including design for manufacturability and regulatory compliance, is preferred.

Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives, engineering projects, or cross-functional teams and solving complex technical challenges. Experience leading design, development, validation, and product lifecycle activities within a regulated or highly technical environment, including application of structured problem-solving and engineering project management methodologies. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally; typical assignments may require overnight, out-of-town stays of 2 to 5 days.

Typical office environment; reasonable accommodation will be evaluated where needed. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Master's degree in engineering or a related field. Advanced certification such as Six Sigma or Project Management Professional.

The annual salary range for this role is $135,000 - $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
