Job Description Essential Functions The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment malfunctions. Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and related control systems. Install, test, repair, calibrate, and adjust electrical equipment, instrumentation, and control devices.

Repair and maintain electrical and mechanical components, and initiate purchase requisitions for replacement parts and supplies as needed. Support engineering initiatives involving new equipment development and control system upgrades utilizing technologies such as PLCs, servo systems, vision systems, motor controls, molding equipment, and other automation technologies. Provide technical support to production teams for equipment repair, troubleshooting, and machine overhauls.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration activities. Develop working knowledge of drives, PLCs, and control systems to support manufacturing operations. Additional Responsibilities Comply with all BD safety policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Follow BD quality systems and practices through the consistent application of quality assurance principles. Observe all environmental, safety, and quality standards. Communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel, engineering teams, and leadership.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Adhere to all company policies and procedures necessary to maintain a safe and productive work environment. Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Senior Production Engineer.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education Requirements Currently enrolled in a BD-sponsored educational program and working toward a two-year technical degree in Electrical Controls, Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field. Candidates who have already completed an applicable two-year technical degree are also encouraged to apply.

Experience Requirements No prior experience is required. Previous experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment, industrial controls, or related systems is preferred. Exposure to PLCs, electrical systems, robotics, or automation technologies is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Willingness to learn and apply technical concepts in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Equipment Used Computers and maintenance software systems. Forklifts and pallet trucks.

Hand and power tools. Electrical and electronic testing equipment. Calibration and diagnostic instruments.

Forklift certification is required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the facility. Physical Requirements Level 3 - Medium Work Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

Working Conditions This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and is exposed to indoor industrial conditions that may include temperature fluctuations. Employees may be exposed to: Moving mechanical equipment and machinery. Electrical systems and energized equipment.

Elevated work areas, scaffolding, and ladders. Heat, chemicals, oils, lubricants, and other manufacturing materials. Dust, fumes, mists, odors, and varying ventilation conditions.

Conditions that may affect the respiratory system or skin. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures are required and provided in accordance with BD policies and regulatory requirements. Why Join Us?
