The Opportunity As a Data Engineer , you will play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions that enable analytics, business intelligence, and enterprise data integration.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust data pipelines, ensure data quality and reliability, and deliver innovative solutions that support strategic business objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, large-scale data platforms, and advanced engineering practices in a highly collaborative environment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations using Databricks Spark Declarative Pipelines, Databricks Asset Bundles, Terraform, AWS , and related technologies to support growing data volumes and business requirements.
Partner with analytics, product, and business teams to develop and optimize data models that power business intelligence solutions and drive data-informed decision-making. Implement and maintain data quality, reconciliation, and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and availability of production data across enterprise systems. Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests while contributing to engineering standards, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Analyze complex datasets to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data-related challenges and performance issues. Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts to deliver end-to-end data solutions. Work with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Enterprise Data Backbone Engineering teams to design scalable integration patterns and data models supporting diverse analytics use cases.
Partner with DevOps and the Cloud Center of Excellence to deploy and operate secure, performant, and highly reliable data solutions within Takeda's AWS environment. Continuously improve engineering practices, automation capabilities, and platform performance to enhance operational excellence. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering, software development, data warehousing, data lakes, data modeling, or analytics solutions. Strong expertise in data modeling, including: Kimball dimensional modeling Third Normal Form (3NF) data modeling Primary and foreign key design strategies Data profiling and data quality assessment Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) patterns Strong knowledge of modern database technologies, including relational, graph, and NoSQL databases . Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and data technologies, such as: AWS DMS AWS Lambda Amazon SQS AWS Step Functions Streaming platforms and data visualization technologies Databricks Advanced Databricks expertise, including: PySpark Databricks SQL Spark Declarative Pipelines (Delta Live Tables) Unity Catalog Experience designing and implementing real-time and event-driven architectures, including Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies such as LogMiner, Debezium, and AWS DMS .
Experience developing and integrating APIs using REST and SOAP services. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform . Solid understanding of modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps , CI/CD, testing strategies, and source code version control.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams. Professional fluency in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience building, deploying, or integrating AI agents and leveraging automation to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
