Job Title: Solution Architect - SAP Supply Chain Planning & Digital Manufacturing

The Solution Architect - SAP Supply Chain Planning & Digital Manufacturing is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving SAP-enabled digital manufacturing solutions. The role covers SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC), SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (MII), SAP Manufacturing Execution (ME), and related SAP PP, EWM, QM, MM-IM, and PM capabilities.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Operations, and Plant IT, the role delivers reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions that provide real-time operational visibility, enable intelligent production planning, and connect shop-floor activities with enterprise processes. The position plays a key role in improving productivity, quality, traceability, and regulatory compliance.

Your Role

  • Lead end-to-end SAP digital manufacturing initiatives from discovery through design, build, test, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Architect and implement solutions across SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud, SAP MII, SAP ME, SAP PP/EWM/QM/MM-IM/PM, and SAP ECC/S4HANA/EWM integration points.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and logistics teams to map business processes to SAP capabilities (e.g., production planning, order execution, batch management, quality inspection, asset management, stock transfer).
  • Design and configure real-time shop-floor dashboards, KPIs, alerts, and analytics to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Integrate SAP digital manufacturing solutions with MES, ERP, IoT platforms, and third-party systems (e.g., PLCs, historians, SCADA, and OT data sources).
  • Lead data modelling efforts for master data, bill of materials, routings, work centres, and production orders to support manufacturing operations.
  • Define and execute testing strategies (functional, integration, regression) and support user acceptance testing.
  • Establish governance for change management, version control, security, access controls, and data quality within SAP solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project teams, business analysts, and end-users.
  • Prepare and manage project plans, budgets, risk registers, and status communications to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and training materials for end users.
  • Stay current with SAP product roadmaps, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, ISO) impacting manufacturing operations.

Who You are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • At least 5+ years of experience implementing or sustaining SAP-based manufacturing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC) and/or SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (MII); knowledge of SAP ME and SAP PP/EWM/QM/MM-IM/PM is highly desirable.
  • Strong integration experience between SAP ECC, S/4 Hana, EWM using SAP Clound connector with SAP DM and MES/OT systems, including API design, middleware, and data mapping.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (discrete, batch, process) and shop-floor realities.
  • Experience with real-time analytics, dashboards, and KPI design for manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance in manufacturing IT environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP certifications relevant to digital manufacturing (e.g., SAP MII, SAP ME, SAP PP/PM, SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud).
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA integration patterns and SAP Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of OT/IT convergence, IIoT, OPC/UA, MQTT, and data historian architectures.
  • Programming or scripting skills (e.g., SQL, ABAP, JavaScript) to support custom developments or data extraction.
  • Experience in GMP/AML/ISO-compliant manufacturing settings.
  • Experience leading change management, user adoption, training, and enablement activities.
  • Certification or formal training in IoT, manufacturing analytics, data science, or a related discipline.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across business, IT, engineering, and operations teams in a global environment.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to clear, accurate documentation.
  • Proactive approach to identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple initiatives while maintaining delivery focus.
  • Adaptability and willingness to continuously learn as SAP capabilities and manufacturing technologies evolve.

Work Environment and Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required; typical travel is approximately 10–20%, depending on project needs.
  • Ability to work periodically on-site at manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment and support initiatives across multiple locations and time zones.
