Senior Material Handler Position Summary: Responsible for the successful completion of all aspects of Material Handling work tasks. Able to demonstrate specialist knowledge in 3 designated work tasks from Goods Receipt, work order kitting, releasing of goods into inventory, label printing and shipping. Ensure site schedule adherence for all internal customers is achieved in a timely and efficient manner.

Be supportive of subordinates and be a go to person for problem solving and leadership in the absence of team leader. Be supportive of Team Leader in the day to day running of the team. Understand and implement all process improvements including PR administration, Change control (ECO’s) utilising the PPI methodology.

A customer focused attitude and approach to all daily tasks, ensuring customer needs are met. Ensure inventory accuracy targets are met across all materials. Cover for team leader as required at daily and project meetings, supporting the team in achieving their goals.

Education & experience Demonstrated experience of working in a warehouse environment. Experience of working within a regulated life science, pharmaceutical or medical device business. Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures; written and verbal instruction, and to meet schedules required.

Working knowledge of SAP and business computer software with logistics related databases. Proven continuous improvement skills Excellent communication skills at various levels, Key Responsibilities Take an active role in process improvements to increase efficiency or productivity, utilising the PPI business system to constantly raise the bar in the material handling team. Perform material handling duties in line with current SOP’s and in compliance with current ISO standards.

Ensure all goods are received, examined, stored, delivered, and shipped according to established procedures and customer requirements. Assist customers in ensuring all targets are reached on time every time. Support the Team Leader to achieve inventory accuracy across all areas meets a minimum of 97.5%.

Ensure delivery of materials with a Right First Time and On Time Delivery of 99%. Maintain a clean and safe working environment for everyone who enters the material handling areas. Lead the team in PPI activity such as Gemba, RCCM and JDI completion.

Train other operators as required. Raise and complete the full administration of PR’s to document non conformances in a timely manner. Administration of the change control system (ECO’s) to make improvements to processes.

Represent the material handling team meetings and audits in a professional manner. Coach operators on safety quality and PPI performance standards.
