The EHS Specialist & Chemical Lead is responsible for providing expert guidance to the business regarding EHS, chemical safety, legal requirements and continuous improvement within the EHS field. The position acts as the subject-matter expert (SME) for chemical legislation, hazardous substances, SDS management, REACH/CLP obligations, product stewardship, and EHS regulatory compliance across the site.

This position reports to the Senior EHS Manager and is part of the EHS team located in Solna and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Maintain and oversee the company’s chemical inventory and ensure compliance with REACH, CLP, and national regulatory requirements. Participate in chemical risk assessments, ensuring appropriate classification, labeling, and mitigation measures.

Deliver training regarding chemical safety, handling, storage, PPE, and emergency response. Provide expert advice to employees, project teams, and management on chemical and EHS compliance matters. Support the business continuity and emergency preparedness plans with a focus on chemical management for all critical areas.

The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Toxicology, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in chemical management, regulatory compliance, and EHS roles. Good knowledge of REACH, CLP, safety data sheet management, relevant chemical regulations, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Experience with the Danaher Business System (DBS) and continuous improvement methodologies.

An advanced degree, such as a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Toxicology, or a related field. ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 auditor certification. Join our winning team today.
