Telecommuting: Telecommuting is available up to three (3) days per week.

Travel: International or domestic travel is required approximately 1-2 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

The Associate Architect will lead engineering efforts to align product vision to our enterprise strategies, technology roadmap, and digital transformation.

Specific job duties include

  • Writing software code to build in-house backend and frontend applications that connect to ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems and internal databases;
  • Utilizing database management system tools and technologies such as Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL to manage large, complex databases;
  • Utilizing system orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Terraform to deploy or modify in-house software applications;
  • Preparing high-level software design documents and technical specifications and documenting existing processes;
  • Monitoring API performance and analytics; and
  • Guiding and mentoring agile teams on architecture, design, and integration of business software across multiple product platforms while making sure all application software is built with performance and scalability in mind.

Requirements & Qualifications

Employer requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field and eight (8) years of progressively more responsible work experience as a software engineer or related occupation utilizing Agile and Scrum methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle. In addition, employer requires:

  • Demonstrated ability utilizing JAVA, J2EE, and design patterns to develop digital platforms or client/server applications in the ecommerce domain gained through eight (8) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability designing and developing web applications with JAX-RS and RESTFUL webservices gained through six (6) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability utilizing multiple databases such as Oracle or SQL Server and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra gained through six (6) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated ability utilizing Elastic Search, Maven, Dynatrace, and Gitlab gained through six (6) years of work experience; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microservices, event-oriented architectures and distributed systems, and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines gained through six (6) years of work experience.

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

Salary Range: One hundred fifty-three thousand five hundred to one hundred sixty-nine thousand nine hundred dollars per year.
