About this role

About The Role The Facilities Maintenance Technician Level II is responsible for the general maintenance of all Altasciences sites. They take on special projects (e.g. basic renovations), coordinate with the external suppliers, coordinates and performs routine maintenance on the HVAC systems and is available on-call on a rotating schedule What You'll Do Here Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on HVAC’s and other critical systems. Involved in planning and executing special projects assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Assist with site visits and arranging service calls as needed. Manages the Emergency help line (24/7) on a rotating basis. Depending on location, weekly or monthly testing of the generators, which includes filing forms.

Basic plumbing work such as valves replacement, equipment installation (ice machine, steamer, etc.). Refresh the paint and damaged walls for all Altasciences sites, sometimes the work may require working outside of regular business hours. Replacement of all non-functioning lighting (neon lights, light bulbs, etc.).

Replacement of damaged or stained ceiling tiles. Moving various furniture or office supplies. Depending on location, assignment of keys to employees.

Escort contractor during repairs. Transport of samples (within Montreal region). Participates in the general maintenance and upkeep of locales.

Assist in setting up for Altasciences special events (tents, tables, chairs, etc…). Depending on location, may receive and deliver participant meals daily from outside caterer. What You'll Need To Succeed Diplôme d'études secondaires complété Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience Bilingual proficiency in French and English.

Working knowledge and ability to perform basic skills including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall Driver’s License required (will have to travel between our Montreal and Laval site) OSHA or Industry related certification preferred MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point Capable of lifting weights of up to 100 pounds Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals. Customer service oriented. Good communication skills.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities. Ability to work within a team and a sense of organization.

Experienced painter. Must be able to work flexible hours Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
