EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION DESIRED

  • A BS or MS in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering related. A degree in other engineering disciplines may be considered if accompanied by direct experience in chemical manufacturing or chemical product development.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience with at least 1 years direct experience with chemical manufacturing & quality control, chemical process engineering, or chemical product development.
  • Demonstrated capability in process modeling and process troubleshooting
  • Direct experience using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) to troubleshoot and/or improve chemical processes & quality.
  • Electronics industry experience & quality expertise is a plus

POSITION SUMMARY

The Toll Manufacturing process Engineer is responsible for developing, deploying, troubleshooting, improving and optimizing the processes, equipment, analytical systems and quality controlled necessary to manufacture PLA and SP&C products to the exacting and ever increasing standards of semiconductor manufacturing industry. This position will provide key technical support for development and commercial products throughout their life cycle, including but not limited to improving their quality, consistency, productivity, Environment, Health, Safety , Engineering projects , daily operations at Toller site, SAP, material management and production cost improvement, as well as participating in the resolution of customer quality issues or product performance excursions.

The incumbent will work in laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing site settings supporting both MERCK and our Toll manufacturing partners.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Take new product development data, NPIs and/or small volume manufacturing (SVM) data and define the technology and manufacturing processes necessary to translate these products to full scale manufacturing. If SVM data does not exist , will work with Technology to create data set to be used for scale up to HVM
  • Create Work instructions and Batch Sheets for any new product and define Process of Record (POR) for that product in HVM. Will monitor compliance to POR at designated manufacturing site.
  • Define key process steps and trend performance to POR in those steps. Will be responsible for identifying and managing all out of control process parameters.
  • Provide process engineering support for the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and/or production facilities
  • Establish and implement process models and statistical process control schemes to monitor process inputs and outputs, and conduct designed experiments to and reduce the sources of process or product variability.
  • Day to day production related management of manufacturing site, including but not limited to manufacturing activity, material management , Environment, Health, Safety…etc . .
  • Support the Technology and Product Management teams in resolving customer quality issues and product performance excursions.
  • Collect and report on key Operational metrics for the designated manufacturing site and identify areas for continuous improvement.
