Job Summary The AGS India Communications & Events Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and governing communications and events across AGS India and the AGS Global Office, while establishing a centralized communications framework for all AGS Centers globally. This role owns end-to-end communications and events strategy, planning, and execution for AGS India and AGS Global Office, and ensures consistent messaging, branding, and engagement standards across all AGS locations. The incumbent operates in a hub-and-spoke model where communications governance, planning, and tracking are managed centrally, while execution at individual AGS Centers is carried out by local PMOs and L&T Managers under defined guidelines and oversight.
Accountabilities Communications Strategy & Leadership Define and lead the overall communications strategy for AGS India and AGS Global Office. Align communication priorities with AGS business objectives and global leadership direction. Serve as the central owner for all communications and messaging across AGS India and the AGS Global Office.
Centralized Governance Across AGS Centers Establish and manage a global communications governance framework across all AGS Centers Standardize: Communication templates and formats Branding and messaging guidelines Channels and communication cadence Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all communications globally Global Communications Oversight Drive centralized planning, tracking, and reporting of all communications and events across AGS Centers Partner with AGS Center PMOs and L&T Managers to: Enable effective local execution Ensure adherence to central guidelines and timelines Provide direction, support, and governance while ensuring local flexibility in execution Events Strategy & Management Own and manage end-to-end events for AGS India and AGS Global Office, including: Townhalls Leadership visits All Hands meetings Workshops and conferences Recognition & engagement events Provide central oversight and planning support for global AGS Center events Ensure events deliver high engagement, seamless execution, and alignment with strategic objectives Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory Partner with: AGS Global Leadership Team AGS Center Leads Corporate Affairs HR & Functional Leadership Act as a trusted advisor on communication strategy, messaging, and engagement initiatives Support leadership in crafting impactful communication narratives Content & Brand Management Oversee development and approval of high-quality communication content Ensure alignment with Alcon’s global brand and communication standards Manage: Internal communication platforms (e.g., Yammer, intranet) External channels (e.g., LinkedIn, where applicable) Maintain a central repository of assets including templates, decks, calendars, and event materials Analytics & Performance Management Define and track communication and engagement KPIs, including: Reach and engagement metrics Event participation and feedback Communication effectiveness Leverage insights to drive continuous improvement and innovation Present regular dashboards and updates to leadership Program & Matrix Management Lead execution through a matrixed global structure across AGS locations Partner with AGS Center PMOs and local coordinators on communication best practices Manage multiple concurrent initiatives with strong governance, prioritization, and accountability\ Key Performance Indicators Consistency and quality of communications across AGS Centers. Engagement scores for townhalls, campaigns, and events. Timely execution of global and regional communication plans.
Adherence to branding and governance standards. Effectiveness of the global communications oversight and execution model. Stakeholder satisfaction across leadership, centers, and functions.
Improvement in communication reach and adoption metrics. Education Bachelor’s Degree or higher Work Experience 5+ years of experience in communications, events management, or corporate communications. Experience in a Global Business Services or shared services environment preferred.
Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-location communication programs, driving events and engagement initiatives, and working in a matrixed global environment. Enterprise Skills Strategic thinking with execution excellence. Strong leadership and influencing skills in a matrix environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of ownership and accountability. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
