About this role

Job Purpose: The Associate Director, Medical Affairs is responsible for leading the development and execution of the US Medical Affairs strategy for assigned therapeutic area(s). The role provides scientific leadership across evidence generation, publication strategy, medical planning, and cross-functional initiatives while serving as a trusted scientific partner to internal and external stakeholders. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Accountable for leading the development of the evidence generation strategy Provide US medical affairs input into the development of global publication strategies and plans for therapeutic area(s), and support the execution of US publication priorities Lead the medical plan for therapeutic area(s) Leads development, execution, and ongoing optimization of the annual US Medical Affairs Plan for assigned therapeutic area(s), ensuring alignment with global strategy and business priorities.

Provides scientific oversight for localization and review of global medical materials to ensure scientific accuracy, compliance, and relevance for the US market. Leads cross-functional initiatives with internal and external stakeholders to improve standards of care, address unmet medical needs, and advance scientific leadership. Represent the therapeutic area(s) US medical team as part of the cross-functional team Partners with Field Medical through strategic field engagements, coaching opportunities, and external scientific exchange to strengthen customer insights and execution.

Assists in the training of Medical Field Team members on product knowledge and disease area science, including preparation of training support materials. Interprets emerging scientific evidence, identifies evidence gaps, and translates findings into actionable medical strategy. Provides scientific review and medical oversight of cross-functional educational materials in accordance with compliance standards.

Leads the scientific planning, content development, and execution of advisory boards. Leads assessment of evidence gaps and unmet medical needs to inform evidence generation priorities. May serve as Medical Monitor for Medical Affairs-led studies (applicable to MD/DO candidates), providing medical oversight in accordance with applicable regulations and protocols.

Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes (e.g., PhRMA), and company policies. Job Specifications : Education: Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP or similar) with relevant scientific background required Experience: 8-10 years' pharmaceutical / biotherapeutics industry or healthcare experience preferred in a medical sub-specialty relevant to CSL product lines Experience supporting publication activities, literature review, or evidence generation projects. Familiarity with advisory board processes, content management systems, and medical / regulatory compliance frameworks.

Competencies: Strong scientific acumen and ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with scientific writing preferred. Highly organized with strong project coordination and time management skills.

Collaborative team player able to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment. Proficiency in medical literature databases (e.g., PubMed, Embase) and Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements, including PhRMA Code and FDA regulations.

Working Conditions: Experience working within an international company with a complex organizational environment and the ability to operate in a matrix team-oriented structure.
