Reliability Engineer – Mechanical Integrity , you will be a key member of the Engineering and Reliability organization supporting the Anesthesia Manufacturing Site . You will collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, EHS, Quality, and Corporate partners to drive equipment reliability, asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. In this role, you will lead the site's Mechanical Integrity Program , ensuring critical assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while supporting Baxter's commitment to quality and patient safety.
What You'll Be Doing Lead and continuously improve the site's Mechanical Integrity Program. Develop and implement reliability strategies that support plant performance and business objectives. Ensure Mechanical Integrity activities are executed in alignment with production schedules and operational priorities.
Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could impact safety, compliance, production, or business operations. Conduct equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Lead Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives and risk-based maintenance strategies.
Utilize tools such as FMEA, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs to improve asset performance. Analyze maintenance data, downtime trends, and equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities. Support reliability improvements for critical manufacturing and utility systems.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Mechanical Integrity, PSM, RMP, and applicable pressure vessel regulations. Support inspections, audits, and regulatory assessments. Maintain technical documentation and ensure program compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
Serve as a technical resource during internal and external audits. Support inventory management of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials required for Mechanical Integrity activities. Develop and optimize maintenance job plans and reliability strategies.
Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment availability and reliability. Support maintenance and capital project planning activities. Contribute to maintenance and capital budget development, forecasting, and cost tracking.
Identify and implement maintenance cost reduction opportunities. Support site Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement initiatives. Represent the site on corporate teams, projects, and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 8 years of experience within a pharmaceutical, chemical, or highly regulated manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering and maintenance.
Hands-on experience supporting Mechanical Integrity programs and asset reliability initiatives. Experience in maintenance, equipment design, project engineering, and manufacturing operations. Strong knowledge of Mechanical Integrity, Reliability Engineering, and Asset Management principles.
Experience with: Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Programs Process Safety Management (PSM) Risk Management Programs (RMP) Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment, and industrial process systems. Experience with CAD systems and engineering software tools. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to lead improvement initiatives and manage complex technical challenges. Strong project management and organizational skills. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to leadership, operators, engineers, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
