Mainz, Germany; Munich, Germany | full time | Job ID: 11756 About the role As Clinical Data Integration Operations Lead, you will own and govern the end-to-end clinical data integration landscape across strategy, build, operations, and maintenance. You will be accountable for the performance and results of the Clinical Data Integration domain, setting integration standards, priorities, operating models, and investment trade-offs. In this role, you will establish governance frameworks and performance measures that enable sustainable business value across Clinical R&D.
You will contribute to the broader DD&I / GDO data strategy, ensuring that integration capabilities, technology investments, and operational priorities align with enterprise data objectives. Your main responsibilities Govern the full clinical data integration lifecycle across strategy, build, run, and maintenance, ensuring solutions are scalable, controlled, compliant, and fit for purpose Define and maintain the integration governance strategy, frameworks, operating standards, and key performance indicators to monitor integration health, delivery performance, operational stability, and stakeholder value Lead Clinical Data Integration operations, including budget planning, resource allocation, capacity management, and investment prioritization across internal and external resources Establish the operating model, service-level agreements, and escalation thresholds for pipeline delivery and incident management Oversee day-to-day pipeline execution, operational monitoring, and service-level adherence to ensure reliable processing, timely data availability, and proactive management of delivery risks Lead the resolution of incidents, data-quality issues, and reconciliation activities, coordinating root-cause analyses, corrective and preventive actions, and impact assessments across technical and business teams Coordinate cross-functionally with process owners, enterprise architects, data engineers, platform teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to align priorities and resolve dependencies Drive the onboarding of new integrations, including requirements assessment, source-to-target clarification, readiness coordination, validation, operational-support planning, and transition into steady-state operations Identify and deliver continuous-improvement and automation opportunities by standardizing repeatable processes, strengthening monitoring, and reducing manual intervention Ensure integration activities comply with GxP, CSV, SDLC, data-privacy, and quality-management requirements, including validation evidence, change controls, documentation, and audit readiness Maintain accurate technical specifications, operational runbooks, data-flow diagrams, ownership records, and data-lineage artefacts Contribute to the Clinical Data Integration and broader DD&I / GDO data strategies, aligning capabilities and technology investments with enterprise objectives What you have to offer Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific discipline, such as computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, natural sciences, medical science, or biomedical science, combined with relevant professional experience 10-15 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in Clinical Data Integration or Data Operations Experience governing the end-to-end data integration lifecycle, including build, run, and maintenance activities Strong understanding of Clinical R&D processes and clinical systems, such as EDC, CTMS, eTMF, and project-management systems Demonstrated experience with GxP, computer system validation, CSV, SDLC, data privacy, and quality-management requirements Strong knowledge of modern data-integration patterns, including ETL/ELT pipelines, API-based integrations, batch and event-driven data movement, source-to-target mapping, error handling, and operational monitoring Hands-on knowledge of Databricks and AWS capabilities, including scalable data processing, cloud storage, workflow orchestration, security controls, performance optimisation, and production support Experience with data modelling, metadata management, data lineage, and data-quality practices as well with Spotfire and/or Power BI Proven ability to translate business, clinical operations, and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions Experience supporting Clinical R&D implementation projects from requirements clarification and solution design through validation, go-live, hypercare, and stable operational support Experience with vendor management and operational support, strong stakeholder-management, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences effectively Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, matrix environment Ability to prioritise work based on user needs, business value, and return on investment, while managing change effectively Your benefits and remuneration: If the position is filled in the US, the Expected Pay Range is XXX,XXX/year to XXX,XXX/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
