About this role
As a Vendor Management Office Lead, you will define, establish, and continuously develop the global vendor governance model for IT Operations. You will bring vendor performance, commercial and contractual governance, risk, compliance, reporting, and cross-provider coordination into one coherent operating model. The role does not replace service ownership, Procurement, Legal, Finance, or day-to-day service management.
You will create the governance framework, decision forums, information, and escalation paths that allow those accountabilities to work together effectively — and through functional leadership across the Vendor Management Office network, establish scalable standards that strengthen accountability, transparency, and service continuity. Your responsibilities: Define and evolve the Vendor Management Office mandate, capabilities, governance principles, decision rights, and interaction model for global IT Operations, maintaining clear boundaries with the accountabilities of service owners, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and delivery teams. Establish a lean and scalable operating model with clear accountabilities across vendor management, contract management, performance reporting, risk, compliance, and service integration.
Assess current vendor-management activities, consolidate fragmented ownership where appropriate, and develop a phased roadmap from an initial service-transition focus towards broader global coverage. Create a consistent segmentation and governance approach for strategic suppliers and vendor-delivered services, including ownership, review cadences, measures, risks, and escalation routes. Design and chair operational, tactical, and strategic supplier governance forums, providing effective escalation paths for material or recurring issues.
Define standards for vendor scorecards, executive reporting, action tracking, risk visibility, and decision records so that governance information is comparable, traceable, and decision-ready. Oversee vendor performance, SLA adherence, service commitments, relationship health, commercial exposure, risks, and improvement actions while protecting service continuity and Fresenius Kabi interests. Connect contractual obligations with operational performance to inform service reviews, commercial actions, renewals, sourcing decisions, and corrective measures.
Coordinate cross-provider governance across internal teams and third-party providers, identifying dependencies, hand-off issues, and accountability gaps. Provide functional leadership across Vendor Management Office roles, build a structured improvement pipeline, and represent vendor governance in relevant IT Operations and transformation forums. Your qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience in IT, business, procurement, finance, law, or a related area.
7+ years of experience in IT vendor management, supplier governance, IT service management, sourcing, contract management, or outsourced service delivery in a complex global organisation. Experience establishing or leading a Vendor Management Office, SIAM capability, multi-provider governance model, or comparable cross-functional governance function. Strong understanding of vendor performance management, SLAs and KPIs, service reviews, commercial and contractual governance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
Experience working with strategic technology providers in complex managed-service or multi-provider environments. Ability to define governance models, roles, decision rights, processes, forums, reporting standards, and improvement roadmaps, and turn them into practical ways of working. Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills across IT, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Risk, Quality, regional teams, and external providers, with the ability to challenge constructively and handle escalations.
Strong analytical, communication, and executive-presentation skills, translating complex supplier topics into clear decisions and actions. Good understanding of ITSM practices, service integration, and the use of service-management data and platforms such as ServiceNow as governance enablers. Fluent English and comfortable working across countries, cultures, and organisational boundaries.
