Job Description About the role: Join Takeda as an Associate Director, Public Policy and Reimbursement where you will serve as the team's lead reimbursement policy subject matter expert, supporting policy analysis, access strategy development, and stakeholder engagement activities.

As part of the U.S. Public Affairs team, you will report to the Head of Public Policy and Reimbursement. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C or Cambridge, MA.

How you will contribute: Analyze federal and commercial coverage, coding, and payment policies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, and assess implications for Takeda's U.S. portfolio, oncology business, and pipeline assets. Monitor and interpret evolving reimbursement and access policies across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial markets; provide timely updates and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders. Develop and advance Takeda's reimbursement policy positions through analysis of complex reimbursement and access issues, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations to inform business decisions.

Lead and support reimbursement, coverage, coding, and access strategies for Takeda's current and future portfolio across government and commercial markets, including CMS engagement and coding initiatives such as HCPCS applications, CPT code development, and USP classification activities. Serve as the lead reimbursement policy resource for the USPA team, partnering cross-functionally and with external stakeholders to evaluate policy developments, shape business and advocacy strategies, and drive alignment through effective internal and external communications. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to assess implications of Most Favored Nation (MFN) policies, the 340B Drug Pricing Program, and the Inflation Reduction Act on U.S. pricing and reimbursement strategies.

Facilitate and guide analyses of emerging reimbursement and access issues affecting Takeda products and pipeline assets, identifying risks, opportunities, and business implications. Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise Deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement, including coverage, coding, payment, and patient access across government and commercial markets. Previous experience submitting coding or New Technology Add-On Payment (NTAP) applications preferred.

Experience navigating Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, provider, and managed care environments. Knowledge of reimbursement and access considerations for FDA-regulated products, including product launch readiness and field support. Understanding of healthcare product development and commercialization, with the ability to anticipate and assess policy and market trends.

Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering multiple complex initiatives successfully. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across functions and levels of the organization. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree Strong writing skills; a writing sample will be required.

7+ years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical industry Preferred Experience working directly in a policy-related healthcare field preferred Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize diverse sources of evidence. Proven track record in developing practical and implementable policy solutions. Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and functions.

Demonstrated leadership skills, both with and without formal authority. Base Salary Range: $154,400.00 - $242,550.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
