About this role
This position will report to the CFO and be responsible for leading the company’s accounting function and will help guide General Oncology through its next phase of growth. The role will lead the quarter end close process and manage General Oncology’s relationship with KPMG, including leading the annual Audit and General Oncology’s tax compliance requirements. The successful candidate will have significant experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite and a proven track record of success in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Key responsibilities
Own and manage the general ledger, including timely and accurate month-end, quarter end, and year end close processes
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage AP, AR, payroll, credit card, and expense allocations
Ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP requirements
Support quarter end variance analysis and reconciliation procedures
Liaise with external auditors and tax preparers during audits and tax filings
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Lead or support the eventual ERP system transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or advanced degree required
At least 5+ of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry
Strong knowledge or US GAAP and internal control frameworks
Proficiency with QuickBooks and readiness for NetSuite implementation
Comfortable in a hands-on role with a growing, fast paced organization
Excellent excel skills
Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate financial information to various stakeholders clearly
Location
The ideal candidate will be located in the greater Boston, MA area and be willing to come into the office
Compensation
