Compensation Data The base salary range for this position is $262,400 to $393,600. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future.

Reporting to the Vice President, Customer Engagement & Transformation, the Executive Director, Go to Market Planning and Activation runs the Go to Market Planning & Activation pillar — the operating engine that builds the capability of Human Pharma’s customer-facing and home-office teams and gets our assets to market as one coordinated organization. This role works directly with the Therapeutic Areas, Medicine, Patient Excellence, and Value & Access to understand what each group needs and to put the right offering against it — whether that is field training, account and marketplace capability, leadership and business acumen development, launch readiness support, or GTM ecosystem and customer planning.
This role embeds with these teams to understand their strategic plans, anticipate the capability gaps that will constrain execution, and deploy the pillar's resources to close them ahead of need. The ED, GTM Planning and Activation leads five strategic training offerings, Therapeutic Area Field Training, Medicine Training, Marketplace & Account Training, Business Leadership & Training, and Strategic Skills. Together these teams deliver product and disease-state training across Oncology, ILD, CRM, Cardio-Renal, Respiratory, Obesity/Liver Health; Medical for all TAs; SAM and account-management capability across PACE, RAAD, ILD, Oncology, and V&A; onboarding, certification, coaching, and manager effectiveness; and enterprise skills including customer engagement, business acumen, marketing excellence, Veeva and omnichannel, and AI enablement.
This role is accountable for keeping each of these types of training close to the customer it serves while running them as one capability — curricula built once and leveraged everywhere, with the ability to flex resources to where the need is greatest. The ED, GTM Planning and Activation also owns Launch Excellence and GTM Readiness. Launch Excellence covers cross-functional launch strategy, milestones, dependencies, and readiness tracking across the asset portfolio, delivered through dedicated Launch Managers per asset.
GTM Readiness is a capability that partners with asset teams to map local care delivery ecosystems, translate those insights into customer plans through ICC CAREPATH and ICP, and structure how customer-facing teams engage those ecosystems — so markets are mapped, aligned, and operationalized before Day 1 rather than after it. Across all seven teams, the Executive Director sets standards, ways of working, and operating cadences that reduce fragmentation and rework, and is accountable for the capability, succession depth, and performance of the pillar. This position is in Ridgefield, CT.
Duties & Responsibilities Training capability leadership – Lead the Human Pharma training capability through five strategic offerings, serving customer-facing and home-office teams across every therapeutic area and function: Set the training strategy and annual curriculum plan across TA Field Training, Medicine, Marketplace & Account Training, Business Leadership & Training, and Strategic Skills. Ensure product, disease-state, and selling capability is delivered across Onc, ILD, CRM, Cardio-Renal, Respiratory, and O/L, and that SAM and account teams have the marketplace, payer, and access fluency required for complex account selling. Own onboarding, certification, role-based learning, coaching, and manager effectiveness programs.
Build enterprise strategic skills — marketing excellence, customer engagement, business acumen, Veeva and omnichannel, and AI capability and adoption — built once and deployed across all TAs including Medicine. Keep trainers aligned to the TAs they serve while running one capability, flexing resources to the areas of greatest need. Set instructional standards, content quality, and certification requirements across all training teams.
Launch Excellence – Own cross-functional launch readiness across the asset portfolio, delivered through dedicated Launch Managers per asset: Define the launch framework, milestones, dependencies, and stage gates used across assets Run launch readiness tracking and the operating cadence with asset teams and cross-functional partners. Ensure clear ownership of who is doing what by when across Commercial, Medicine, V&A, and Patient Excellence. Surface risks and gaps early and drive them to resolution ahead of Day 1.
Capture and apply learnings from each launch to the next. GTM Readiness – Stand up and run the GTM Readiness capability, partnering with asset teams to map, align, and operationalize local care delivery ecosystems ahead of execution: Establish a standardized GTM framework, governance, and operational playbook so planning is repeatable rather than ad hoc. Own ecosystem and influence mapping — stakeholder mapping, data analysis, market archetyping, and ecosystem profiling.
Drive strategic customer planning through ICC CAREPATH and ICP, translating ecosystem insight into clear value propositions and executable customer plans. Define ways of working and engagement models across customer-facing teams so Sales, Medical, Patient Support, and Access engage local systems in a coordinated way. Partner with asset teams through the GTM journey rather than handing over a playbook, and run the operating cadence that sustains it.
Own business productivity support to the asset and customer-facing teams. Requirements Bachelors Degree required, advanced degree preferred. Fifteen-plus (15+) years of professional experience, with significant experience in pharma or related industries (healthcare, consulting, or agency).
Ten-plus (10+) years of leadership experience, including leading multi-layered teams through other people leaders. Substantial experience leading commercial and/or field training organizations, including curriculum strategy, delivery at scale, and effectiveness measurement in a regulated environment. Deep launch experience across pre-launch, launch, and in-market phases, with a track record of driving cross-functional readiness.
Strong understanding of the drug lifecycle, account management, and the payer and health-system landscape. Experience building new capabilities from the ground up and embedding new ways of working that stick. Proven ability to run an operating function — planning capacity, managing competing demand, setting standards, and delivering against commitments.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and aligning senior stakeholders in a highly matrixed, global organization. Strong executive presence, communication, and influencing skills. Experience with process design, performance measurement, and meaningful KPIs; Lean Six Sigma or similar preferred.
Working knowledge of omnichannel, Veeva, market research, and data and analytics within pharma, and practical experience applying AI to training and planning. Budget and vendor management experience. Eligibility Requirements : Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). Must be 18 years of age or older. Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities Additional Duties & Responsibilities : Business partnership with the Therapeutic Areas, Medicine, Patient Excellence, and Value & Access - Work directly with these groups and the GTM Solutions team to understand their plans, priorities, and capability gaps, and deploy the right offering from the pillar against each need: Maintain an ongoing operating rhythm with TA, Medicine, Patient Excellence, and V&A leadership.
Translate their business plans into concrete training, launch, and GTM readiness commitments with agreed timing and ownership. Prioritize and sequence pillar capacity against enterprise priorities and launch timing. Track delivery against commitments and hold the pillar accountable for follow-through.
Organizational leadership and capability building – Lead a multi-layered organization of Director-led teams spanning training, Launch Excellence, and GTM Readiness: Define the organizational structure and capability model aligned to business need and launch timing. Develop Directors and build succession depth at the leadership layer. Attract, develop, and retain training, launch, and planning talent.
Set the culture, performance standards, and ways of working for the pillar. Manage the pillar budget, vendor relationships, and resource allocation.
