YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Join our team and deliver field data insights by executing field research trials through collaborative partnerships, machine operation, phenotyping, training, and data collection.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Farming Operator North America Field Support Associate II, are to:
- ✓Utilize innovative technology and innovation to operate and maintain field research equipment while delivering high-quality data;
- ✓Travel up to 75% of the time across North America to perform equipment operations in corn, soybean, canola, wheat, and cotton;
- ✓Thrive in agile environments, drives high-quality deliverables, communicates effectively across teams, and demonstrates initiative in solving problems with peers;
- ✓Ensure safe and efficient operations in alignment with Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment (SSHE), stewardship requirements, and Business Code of Conduct and Ethics standards;
- ✓Leverage digital and mechanical platforms to collect, analyze, and deliver data on agronomic traits throughout the growing season;
- ✓Collaborate across diverse teams and functions while establishing and maintaining community partnerships;
- ✓Execute field research equipment training and develop supporting documentation;
- ✓Drive more than 15,000 business miles annually in a shared company-supplied vehicle.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following
Required Qualifications
- ✓Experience with equipment operations, such as production agriculture, field research, industrial, construction, automation/IT, or similar environments;
- ✓Ability and willingness to travel independently across North America up to 75% of the time, including overnight travel, and obtain necessary travel documentation;
- ✓Ability to work in extreme temperatures for extended periods, including additional shifts and weekends;
- ✓Ability to safely lift up to fifty pounds;
- ✓Ability and willingness to work in an indoor production environment and in conditions that require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods;
- ✓Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening);
- ✓Ability to obtain the appropriate driver’s license for medium to heavy vehicle operation (>10,000 lbs. GCWR) without air brake designation and meet region-specific licensing requirements (US DOT/FMCSA or Transport Canada), including any specialized licenses required to safely haul trailers, product, supplies, or equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓Master’s degree with minimum years’ relevant experience; OR
- ✓Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 2+ years’ relevant experience; OR
- ✓Non-degreed 10 years relevant
- ✓Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
- ✓Ten or more years of relevant experience, including post-high school academic or industrial experience;
- ✓Experience with precision agriculture hardware and software solutions, as well as suggesting continuous improvement and innovation opportunities;
- ✓Experience in agricultural research, the seed technology industry, or plant breeding, including creating and leading trainings;
- ✓Experience in production agriculture and associated machinery;
- ✓Knowledge of region-specific crop production, farming practices, and industry trends, with agility, openness to change, and engagement in continuous learning;
- ✓Demonstrated track record of safety and quality;
- ✓Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals;
- ✓Ability to obtain a Pesticide Applicator License and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAV) FAA Part 107 Certification.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $61,680.00 to $92,520.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
