Position Description

The Wellness and Engagement Manager leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of wellness programs at Applied Medical. This role, also develops strategic wellness initiatives aligned with organizational goals, population health analysis, and team member needs. The Wellness and Engagement Manager drives participation in wellness challenges, recognition programs, and fitness offerings while building a culture of health and engagement across Applied Medical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of workplace wellness programs.
  • Develop and execute strategic wellness initiatives based on population health analysis and team member needs.
  • Manage engagement campaigns, wellness challenges, and recognition programs to drive participation.
  • Partner with Safety and Health teams to promote injury prevention and workplace health.
  • Analyze program utilization, trends, and team member feedback to identify opportunities for improved outcomes.
  • Design targeted programs and resources to address common injuries, health risks, and overall well being.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Branding teams to develop wellness communications, digital content, and toolkits.
  • Interview, hire, and train team members for the Wellness team.
  • Instruct weekly fitness classes with a positive, motivating approach.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Drive strong participation in wellness programs, challenges, and fitness offerings.
  • Build accessible, inclusive wellness programs relevant across diverse populations and locations.
  • Strengthen partnerships with Safety, Corporate Communications, and Hospitality teams to support wellness initiatives.
  • Deliver accurate program evaluation through consistent data collection and statistical analysis.
  • Lead and develop a high performing Wellness team through consistent feedback and training.
  • Maintain team member satisfaction by resolving inquiries, concerns, and feedback effectively.

Position Requirements

This Position Requires the Following Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in health promotion, exercise science, public health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in corporate wellness, health promotion, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, motivation, and people management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and program expenditures.
  • Ability to instruct group fitness classes with a positive, engaging demeanor.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in a fast paced environment.

Preferred

The Following Skills and Attributes Are Preferred

  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification or equivalent wellness certification.
  • Group fitness instructor certification.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Experience with corporate event or hospitality coordination.
