We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Specialist – Global Alliances & Licensing to join the GSK Finance Hub – Europe . This role offers visible impact, accelerated learning and the opportunity to deepen your financial reporting and business partnering skills while contributing to GSK’s mission of uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. You will report to the Financial Reporting Team Leader – Global Alliances & Licensing and work closely with stakeholders at all levels, from analysts to senior management, further building both your financial reporting and business partnering capabilities.
The role is embedded in the wider GSK Corporate Finance function, with opportunities to collaborate across the organisation and take an active role in continuous improvement, digital initiatives and team-wide projects. The successful candidate will develop financial reporting and business partnering skills with stakeholders of varying seniority across Finance and other functions, including C&C, R&D, Legal, Supply Chain, GSK Global Treasury, Trading Partner Finance & Operations and Tax/Transfer Pricing . Key Responsibilities: Contract and Royalty Management Manage your own portfolio of complex licensing agreements.
Prepare summaries of royalty contracts and payment packs and deputize for the Team Leader when required. Controls, Compliance and Audit Ensure compliance with contractual financial reporting requirements to third parties and with internal SOX controls. Act as key contact for internal and external audits.
Month-End, Forecasting and Cash Flow Lead month-end / period-end processes: analyse entries, prepare and review journals (including monthly royalty accruals), perform balance sheet reconciliations and commentary, and fulfil associated SOX responsibilities, ensuring a timely close. Prepare annual budget royalty rates, royalty income, royalty expenses and trade payables for your product portfolio. Perform cash flow reporting and analysis.
Analyse actuals versus plan and prepare concise, assumption-driven variance explanations. Support critical month-end reporting processes and ensure timely, accurate delivery of financial reports. Reporting, Data and Transformation Support Finance transformation initiatives, including SAP Analytics Cloud ( SAC) and S/4HANA reporting projects , partnering with technical and data teams to design sustainable, scalable reporting solutions.
Business Partnering and Stakeholder Management Develop strong business partnerships and act as a trusted advisor on financial reporting capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve business insight. Support ad-hoc analysis and decision-support requests from senior stakeholders. Work across cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and reporting standardisation.
Basic Qualifications: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent professional qualification. 3–4+ years’ finance and accounting experience in a corporate environment, including experience in a control / SOX environment. Deep expertise in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting and management reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting and management reporting concepts, including double entry and accruals, with IFRS awareness. Experience with SAP (e.g. S/4HANA) and SAP Analytics Cloud or similar planning systems.
Strong analytical, data visualisation and storytelling skills in a financial context; highly proficient in MS Excel. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English (minimum C1), confident with senior and cross-functional stakeholders. Organised, detail-oriented team player with strong time management skills, proven problem-solving ability and a flexible, “can-do” attitude.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced SAP (including S/4HANA) experience in a Finance or reporting environment is a strong asset. Progress towards or completion of a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
Experience with data analysis and visualisation platforms such as Power BI (or similar) to enhance financial storytelling and dashboards. In addition, this position may offer an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
