Job Description Summary STEMCELL Technologies is a world leader in the development and manufacture of high-quality reagents, instruments and services for life sciences research. As we continue to expand our operations across the Asia Pacific region, we are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director, Finance – Asia Pacific, based in China, to provide strategic financial leadership across the region. Reporting to senior Finance leadership and partnering closely with APAC business leaders, the Director, Finance – Asia Pacific will lead the regional Finance function and play a critical role in supporting sustainable growth, financial performance and effective decision-making.
The Director will be responsible for developing and executing the APAC Finance strategy in alignment with global Finance priorities. The role encompasses financial planning and analysis, accounting and reporting, business partnering, governance and controls, tax and regulatory compliance, cash and working capital management, and Finance transformation. The successful candidate will combine strong financial and technical expertise with commercial acumen, strategic thinking, people leadership and a continuous-improvement mindset.
They will also champion the effective use of data, automation, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to improve Finance efficiency, insight and decision-making. Job Description Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute the Finance strategy for the Asia Pacific region in alignment with STEMCELL Technologies' global Finance strategy and business objectives, acting as a trusted strategic and financial advisor to APAC leadership providing constructive challenge and recommendations that support business growth and effective decision-making Partner with commercial, operational, and functional leaders to understand business performance, identify opportunities and risks, and translate financial information into actionable business insights Lead the APAC budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes in partnership with business and global Finance leadership Establish appropriate regional performance management frameworks, KPIs and reporting to provide timely visibility into revenue, profitability, operating expenses, cash flow and other key business drivers Provide leadership and oversight for financial accounting, reporting, and controls across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global policies and applicable accounting standards while maintaining an effective control environment that safeguards company assets, supports accurate financial reporting and appropriately manages financial risk and ensures compliance with applicable statutory, tax, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements Lead continuous improvement and Finance transformation initiatives across APAC Knowledge and Qualifications University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline with a professional accounting designation such as a CPA or equivalent; an advanced degree such as an MBA or Master's degree is an asset Significant progressive Finance leadership experience within a complex, multinational organization, including responsibility for a multi-country or regional Finance function (Experience within life sciences, biotechnology, medical technology, manufacturing or another regulated and internationally complex industry is an asset) Demonstrated experience operating within China and the broader Asia Pacific business and regulatory environment, with a strong understanding of the financial, statutory, tax and compliance complexities associated with multinational operations Demonstrated strength in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, scenario analysis and business performance management Experience managing external audit and professional advisory relationships; Big Four experience is an asset Fluency in English is required.
