Your Role
In this role, you will be assigned to work on capital projects and will work directly with the respective CapEx project teams. You will be responsible for all functions associated with construction management from initiation to closure including supporting the project team through FEL, design, engineering, regulatory permitting, change management, risk management, development and tracking of schedules, creating request for proposal, associated documentation, creating purchase orders, tracking actual spent versus budget and committed spend, safe execution, construction management, communicating with the stakeholders and end users, and management of external firms, contractors, and suppliers.
- ✓Lead and coordinate day-to-day construction across multiple concurrent projects with varied contractors from concept to closeout.
- ✓Ensure on-time delivery per specifications, within budget, and with full documentary compliance.
- ✓Develop and implement critical lift plans for equipment installations with the construction team.
- ✓Coordinate site-wide outages with site departments to minimize disruption to construction activities.
- ✓Manage procurement and vendor selection (consultants, contractors, equipment, materials) and review bids.
- ✓Oversee means and methods on-site; coordinate startup and commissioning with production and maintenance teams.
- ✓Promote safety, Build Clean Protocols, and oversight of design firms; apply lean/value-added project management concepts.
- ✓Maintain transparent status on scope, budget, schedule, and risk; manage change orders and project documentation.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Operations Management, or other Engineering or Business discipline.
- ✓5+ years experience in chemical, food or pharmaceutical industry in Capital projects execution / management.
OR
- ✓Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Operations Management, or other Engineering or Business discipline.
- ✓3+ years experience in chemical, food or pharmaceutical industry in Capital projects execution / management.
Preferred Qualifications
- ✓Construction, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical degree.
- ✓Project Management Professional Certification (PMI PMP).
- ✓Knowledge of formal project management processes and tools, executing utilizing these tools to initiate, manage and close complex projects in a matrix environment. Manage a portfolio of projects.
- ✓A basic understanding of Life science, chemicals production processes, supply chain and distribution.
- ✓Able to ensure detailed planning across all functions and ensure alignment between multiple stakeholders.
- ✓Good skill in identifying interdependencies and ensuring alignment within projects.
- ✓Evaluate problems and opportunities and develop solutions.
- ✓Communicate actively with all stakeholders at all levels within the organization such as project management office, production unit heads, other relevant group functions to achieve best and aligned results.
- ✓Good understanding of safety and environmental procedures and requirements for construction or project related work.
Pay Range for this position: $82,600 - $124,000 / year
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
