2 x Full time position based in Girraween NSW.
Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm.
An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.
Receive and sort samples, assign tests in accordance with the LIMS database and prepare log sheets.
Give priority to samples that have shorter turnaround times (urgent samples).
Sample preparation for soils and air filters adhering to ISO 17025 accredited methods.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Asbestos Identifier/Counter and Supervisor.
Replenish consumable items (e.g.) from warehouse supplies.
Perform calibrations of auto-pipettes, balances and other equipment as per calibration schedule.
Keep the laboratory clean and in order; sort and organise analysed samples for storage.
Follow instructions from Supervisor and management.
Perform duties in a professional and safe manner.
Analysing asbestos samples via microscopy
Participating in proficiency and inter-laboratory testing
Conducting quality control procedures
Inventory management
Bachelors degree to Science or a scientific background
Desire to continually learn and improve.
Ability to be a hands-on hard worker and a ‘doer’ with a common sense approach.
