The Associate Director, Corporate Affairs Poland – based in Warsaw - is responsible for executing end-to-end Corporate Affairs activities (Drug Development, GPS, Commercial and Science Communications) for Poland and its portfolio and strategic priorities.

The role covers planning, development and execution of integrated communications across external and internal communications, media relations, corporate and brand reputation, disease awareness, employee engagement, digital channels and science communications, in close alignment with the Europe Corporate Affairs organization. The role reports to the Director CHAT/CEE Corporate Affairs.

Main responsibilities

End-to-End Communications Execution for Poland

  • ✓Execute integrated, end-to-end Corporate Affairs plans for assigned brands, scientific and therapeutic areas and strategic initiatives, from strategy and narrative development through implementation and measurement.
  • ✓Translate Corporate Affairs strategy into concrete communications plans, content and tactics, ensuring consistency across channels and stakeholders.
  • ✓Ensure alignment with global frameworks, compliance standards and approval processes.
  • ✓Manage agencies and external partners for assigned projects, ensuring quality, timelines and budget adherence.
  • ✓Track, evaluate and report on activities using agreed KPIs and metrics.

External Communications, Media & Reputation

  • ✓Develop and execute external communications activities, including media relations, thought leadership, corporate storytelling and digital content, within the assigned scope.
  • ✓Prepare messaging, Q&A, briefing materials and content for external milestones (e.g. data, launches, policy developments and scientific milestones).
  • ✓Support issues and crisis management through monitoring, content development and execution of agreed response strategies.

Brand, Product & Disease Awareness Communications

  • ✓Execute integrated brand, science and disease awareness communications in support of priority products, pipeline assets and therapeutic areas.
  • ✓Drive communications for clinical trial recruitment and scientific milestones.
  • ✓Develop and manage content across channels (earned, owned, digital), ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance and strategic relevance.
  • ✓Work cross-functionally with Medical, Commercial, Drug Development, GPS and Market Access/Policy to ensure aligned and effective execution.

Patient Advocacy & Stakeholder Communications

  • ✓Drive patient advocacy and stakeholder engagement with relevant patient organizations in line with BMS principles and governance.
  • ✓Contribute to ensuring the patient and caregiver perspective is reflected in communications initiatives and cross functional projects.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • ✓Execute internal communications and employee engagement initiatives within the assigned scope, aligned with market priorities and leadership messaging.
  • ✓Ensure strong linkage between internal and external narratives.

Education, Qualifications and Skills

  • ✓Bachelor’s degree required
  • ✓Profound experience in brand, science, commercial or corporate communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • ✓Strong network of contacts across Poland and the healthcare ecosystem.
  • ✓Proven track record of delivering high impact integrated, multi channel communications programs in a regulated environment.
  • ✓Good understanding of the political, healthcare and scientific environment in Poland and ability to interpret how external developments can impact BMS and its reputation.
  • ✓Strategic thinking and strong digital, writing, content creation and storytelling skills.
  • ✓Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
  • ✓Experience in working for large global organization, and strong ability to collaborate across the matrix with access, regulatory, medical, Drug Development, GPS and legal teams.
  • ✓Excellent ability to partner with business stakeholders, experience in working with senior executives
  • ✓Experience in science, medical or healthcare communications, including the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into effective stakeholder communications.
  • ✓Fluent in Polish and English.
  • ✓Travel required as needed.

Please note that this position is not a remote working opportunity and is based in the local BMS office, following a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite attendance at your assigned facility.

Compensation Overview

Warsaw - PL: zł319,490 - zł387,146

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.

The final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience and in accordance with pay equity principles and applicable employment laws.
