About this role

The Position: Join Boehringer Ingelheim's IT Enterprise Data Platform (IT EDP) team as a Power BI System Engineer and play a key role in operating, governing, and continuously enhancing our global Business Intelligence platform. The role ensures a secure, scalable, and compliant Business Intelligence ecosystem supporting global business domains, enabling trusted, governed self-service analytics and data-driven decision making. Duties & Responsibilities: In this role, you will Administer and govern the enterprise Power BI tenant aligned with IT EDP standards.

Provide support and incident management; lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist users if they need consulting advice to build their own reports. Organize and support activities related to the Power BI Community.

Manage capacities (Fabric), performance tuning, cost optimization, and workload balancing. Implement and monitor security and compliance (Azure AD integration, RLS/OLS/CLS, data sensitivity, GDPR compliance). Oversee integration with enterprise data platform (Dataland).

Maintain platform documentation, standards, and knowledge base. Requirements: Extensive experience administering Power BI at enterprise scale. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and troubleshooting. Deep understanding of security, governance, and compliance in regulated environments (e.g., pharma). Experience with automation using REST APIs, and Software-as-a-Service concepts.

Solid understanding of data modeling, semantic layers, and analytics patterns. Expertise with SQL and familiarity with Python, or Spark. Nice-to-have Qualifications: Experience in large, global organizations with distributed data ownership.

Microsoft certifications (PL-300, DP-600). Experience with monitoring tools and observability practices. Key Competencies: Enterprise mindset and governance orientation.
